My trip to Skomer to photograph Puffins had to be cancelled at the last minute due to the weather. So, being in Wales, I made my first visit to the Machloop, the low flying area in Wales used mostly by the USAF but with occasional RAF aircraft passing through. A number of F-15s and a couple of RAF Texans came through during the 5 hours I was there. This is one of the F-15s. Sadly the weather precluded me staying over for more. Being my first time at the Machloop I was unsure what to expect and was not quite in the ideal position. Nevertheless, I got some nice photos. Each pass takes only a few seconds, so you have to be ready and can easily get things wrong.
This photo shows condensation trails from the wings and the condensation in the wingtip vortices - the air was quite humid, with occasional rainfall.
