I'm going to try something different...
Last weekend I went to the Dream Machines Car, Airplane, and all things mechanical show in Half Moon Bay, CA.
I had a bit of an idea of what I wanted to photograph, but it wasn't until I saw the masses of people with cameras and tripods, even a couple medium format digital rigs that I really decided to go for it. So in an effort to be a little different, I'm going to be posting a series of black and white (almost abstract) images of the car show. These are from various vehicles that stood out and inspired me...
As far as processing goes, this was rather straight forward... cropping, conversion to B&W, and then a vignette to help highlight the focal points.

My dad absolutely loves this threshing machine. I think he got it from someone in Saskatchewan when he was working there 6 years ago. It adds nicely to the decor of our yard.
It's located right by our pond (ie: swimming hole/skating rink of my childhood). So much fun to have. Just don't ever touch the bottom. Ew! Hah.
Vanilla cake colored all different colors with alternating vanilla and chocolate buttercream. Covered and designed with fondant.

A quick run (literally) into this place produced some quality shots and a desire to return to fully check the place out.
This is a giant complex which used to be a respectable machine plant, but has apparently lost its usefulness. It is currently half abandoned and half active and it is actually big enough not to matter. You could have a rave in the north end on a Monday morning and not one of the 100 people that work on the South end would ever know. In total, there is about two miles of structure to enjoy.
