I've disappeared for ages because of my Final Year Project whereby we have to design and sew a collection of 6 sets of garments. My collection was named Danse Macabre hence the title.

The details are laser cut leatherette glued and then stitched down onto the fabric.

The gatehouse of Highgate Cemetery, arguably the most magnificent of the Magnificent 7 cemeteries.

My cousin, a fierce cemetery blogger and founding member of 'Cemetery Club' managed to get myself and a dozen others on a private tour to take in some of the less seen graves and monuments.

One of the estuary walks at Cowichan Bay skirts a silage corn field, and when they cut the crop this year they missed a row of about 10 stalks on the edge of the field. It's amazing how many birds have been feeding on them, and this is the last ear of corn left. Two flickers flew away from it as I neared and the exposed kernels of orange corn caught my eye. It looked like a long-haired severed head, and the only view of it was through the bare branches of a willow, which I think adds to the macabre feel.

Seeing the bird activity on these few stalks makes me wonder how cool it would be if they intentionally left more stalks standing - even one row around the outside edge of the field would provide a lot of feed.
