You'll soon be hearing the chime

Close to midnight

If I could turn back the time

I'd make all right

How could it end like this?

There's a sting in the way you kiss me

Something within your eyes

Said it could be the last time

'Fore it's over!

Just wanna be

Wanna bewitch you in the moonlight

Just wanna be

I wanna bewitch you all night

I'm sorry I haven't been able to catch up on my friends posts. Will be sure to do so soon. Anyway made a funny shot out of this hallway photo.

Call it mad. Call it macabre. But don't even ask what this is. It's a gate to be sure but what else? Who knows. This photo represents some of the serendipitous discoveries one encounters while losing oneself in the steep and narrow lanes of a Genova neighborhood.

Shot with the Olympus E-M1, Mark II.

And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

This is Sculpture 62 by the artist Ayad Alaqaragholli, from Iraq.

The artist says: "Ravens appear in myth and scripture worldwide, even as the first bird mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, where they symbolise divine care and grace. And the raven , of-course, was a pivotal character in Edgar Allan Poe's mysterious poem 'The Raven' (1845). The chair represents the place of human dwelling, a universal place of where life is lived."

Here at Bondi, the raven is accompanied by Miguel from Brazil.

Fuji X-Pro1 plus Helios 44M-7 at F5.6. The street litter bin stands for movement, things running in a cyclical way, in short, change. The brick wall and the concrete bollards in front of it represent the assumption of permanence and static immovability. It is an assumption only - and it is wrong. There are agents that easily break through our walls and bollards: unhappiness, loneliness, illness and, finally, death. Haven't we always known this? Did the medieval churches not show the "danse macabre", the dance of death leading everybody, young and old, rich and poor, to the bitter end? The litter box has got it right.

Taken in London ...

part I:

--------

Whispers of Whitechapel, a macabre symphony,

Echo through the streets of this city,

In every dark alley, a secret they keep,

The secrets of the women who never sleep.

Their voices silenced, their stories untold,

By the Ripper's hand, their lives unfold,

Their blood stains the cobblestones, a permanent mark,

A reminder of the horrors that lurk in the dark.......

Blauwborst ♀ en ♂ - Female and male White-spotted Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica cyanecula)

Unfortunately the boisterous and spunky male was killed shortly after.

The female is still alive, I saw her last Sunday.
