I guess that this is a heavy, heavy sky series. I should have known this was coming when snow was blowing over the divide in the last series. The St.Vrain Valley was well down on winter precip but this May balanced the sheet with skies like this, west of Mac toward Rocky. I raced to McIntosh thinking there would be snow on implements. Then I raced to the west to the red Dickens barn to shoot the sky. This sky seems lighter at this angle than the last but it's on the way! The mountains got feet of snow while we got major drenching. There was no snow on implements that day but May became the month of mud everywhere down here on the flats. The blue sky pinched out in minutes. The background cattle are entirely interested in all but the delightfully moist and crunchy grasses.
The last extended series at Mac started with tight hardware shots and several stages of natural and weathered siding on old Mac sheds. I have some oddities to share now.
The Ag Museum is now open for summer weekends, including Fridays. Last Friday, I passed through on a leisurely stroll down to Mac Lake, met an interesting mountain man with whiskers and also a dandy bench west along the lake. I loaded up with autumn captures this year in general and accesed the only snow Saturday this winter. As always, it's a great spot for exercise and access to Mac Lake. There is always something more at McIntosh but I am done today with boots ready to scrub in the sink. I apparently can't find everything in a single pass.
The McIntosh-Lohr Farm Agricultural Museum on Highway #66, (not the same as Route #66) #66 goes up to Estes Park and ends mostly east at Flatteville. I dropped everything else because the clouding has been absent recently, Friday and today, they really popped the structures. The unpainted barn was the McIntosh barn and the red one the Dickens barn moved in from the FAA property. I scored shots out here some years ago but the sky was a dud and I was using my old D70. I am gathering all together into my Photo Set album.

I made a slight variation on the Big Mac: I used ground chicken instead of beef. What makes this sandwich is the sauce, and with that you simply cannot go wrong.
Side note: this was a keto friendly version with a low carb bun, and no sugar ketchup in the sauce.
Mac stands tall on the outskirts of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
He is known as the World's Largest Anatomically-correct (that's right, *wink*) Moose! Mac is only one example of the many roadside attractions/oddities found across the country!

Uh oh, they found the Mac! Pinky and Spooky attacked the lanyard and USB drive with glee! Did you know a USB port will support a kitten's full body weight? Macs are so sturdy... Here's a photo of the kittens on their first birthday. The iBook and kittens survived this traumatic incident.

This is an old photo of my friends Border collie, Mac. I've just been having a play with it as I am having it printed on a cushion for her birthday.......so thought I would pop it on here too.
This is a mural I just painted on the side of MARCO, the contemporary art museum in Monterrey, México. It was the first mural I painted there as part of the Seres Queridos(loved ones) project. The portrait is of Régulo de Leon Santos, who works as a parking lot attendant near the museum. This was a very cool project and I met some great people. A lot of locals helped out, making the project possible. Thanks go to Anna of Nobulo who started the project, The good folks at ARTO-Art Beyond Museums, Marla and the people at MARCO, As well as the other artists: Jorge Rodríguez Gerada, El Niño de las Pinturas, and Atma. Here's some lumber patina.
My clean up route takes me to McIntosh/Lohr Ag Museum in an autumn and an out building that was probably a corn crib for Mac's dairy cattle feed. Was this crib constructed from local ponderosa pine? The structure allowed the interior to have clean walls. There were sawmills scattered throughout the hills and mining camps. I grabbed this shot on a walk out at McIntosh Agricultural Museum in a late August. I could not resist snapping this shot while ominous clouding seemed to be growing, I expect that it probably won't entirely ruin my day. I'll push on.
Some of my captures need a load of editing as I am deluged with retouching with 16 work files sitting on my Photoshop desktop. I expect to post more as I get past my immersion in most of the mass of current projects like starting on the quasi-logical Win-10.
Typically, when I get out here, I trek south of the farm to Mac Lake when skies start to build. Otherwise I will look for other detail shots at the farm. Clouding is likely to be giving me a break for now though it could really start to envelope the entire sky. What did this sky portend for the afternoon?
The Ag Museum was open to get to the McIntosh Lake Loop Trail. Hmm, I just might try it on the remaining day. I can't simply just hang around the Museum. I have some neighbors who do nothing more than hang around. Perhaps a small degree of exercise? I can only stand to sit behind the monitor for a small while.
As I related a while back on my Prairie Art Series, this is another bigly tribute series to Nebraska for having to disband their fish and game commission because their duck died. Mac Lake ducks are snuffling around the corn crib door. Other than that, I got in a good walk, if spoiled by detritus and dead stuff. I filled in the park attendant about the Dickens barn history and headed down the path to Mac Lake. They cleaned out all those pesky sunflowers choking the path and some of the prairie varmints. The prairie dogs at the raptor feeding center by the lake are always at risk of predation by raptors. HA! Ravens will clean up scraps behind the raptors.
Make-up is my hot sex. This is my haul of the new mac collection "Fafi". I saved for a while for this one!
This gotta be my quickest build to date. Had fun making the shiny tho.

You can hear Mac from a block away—“Please help! Can anyone help! He does this non-stop on the corner of Washington and Clark. I stopped to say “hi”, and he was more than happy to talk. “Everybody has a story”, he said. He’s been out here about three hours today and about seven years total. “Tough times”, he lamented. His goal and dream is to find a job. “I can do a lot of things—I’m adaptable”, he said. He said a gentleman talked to him a few days ago willing to help him find a job. He said, “I hope he comes through...”. As far as making money on the street, “The City of Chicago wants us to sit with signs...but if you aren’t allowed to ask, no one will give you money! He said he’s been arrested numerous times for “panhandling”, but it didn’t seem to bother him. His advice for someone who’s down or depressed is to “Trust in God—look to God...’cause if the Lord Almighty can’t help you, ain’t no one who can help you!” As we said our goodbyes, he said, “Mr. Steve—I’ll be right here!”
