One bus, two operators. M.C.W. Metrobus. Dublin Bus as a demonstrator, and Stevensons as a service bus
Patron Travel M.C.W. Super Metrobus MkII E 817 JAR (ex-DU 1637[HK]) was new to China Motor Bus, Hong Kong (#ML51) passing to New World First bus before being imported into the U.K. and is pictured at a rally in Heaton Park, Manchester. This bus was later re-registered OIL 4201.
Leyland Atlantean PDR1/1 with M.C.W. CH60F bodywork, new to BOAC in November 1966 to transfer passengers between their central London terminal opposite Victoria Coach Station and Heathrow Airport. This vehicle is now part of British Airways heritage collection.

London Pride open top M.C.W. Metroliner 372, A 112 KFX was originally a double deck coach numbered 3112 in the Shamrock & Rambler fleet and is pictured loading in Trafalgar Square. This vehicle later passed to Arriva's Original London Sightseeing Tour (#ML12) before passing into preservation where it was re-registerd AXZ 5572 and later as MCW 103 G.

Fareway M.C.W. bodied Leyland Fleetline 392, VCU 392 T is pictured in Liverpool city centre. This bus was new to Tyne & Wear Transport (#392) and acquired from Sunderland Busways.
Stagecoach In Newcastle City Sightseeing M.C.W. Metrobus 15901, BYX 241 V was on lease from Ensignbus's City Sightseeing fleet in which it is numbered 341 when pictured in Newcastle city centre. Originally numbered M241 in the London Transport fleet it passed to London General upon the privatisation of London Buses, being converted to open top and renumbered OM241. Whilst with London General it was used by Ken Livingstone as a campaign vehicle in his sucessful bid to become London Mayor in 2000, passing to Ensign in 2003. In this photograph it isn't branded for a specific tour but careful scrutiny will reveal that it has been lettered for the Inverness tour. It has since been reportedly been reallocated by City Sightseeing to work the San Francisco tour in the U.S.A.
Lancashire Travel M.C.W. Metrobus MkII 806, F 806 YLV is pictured on layover at St Helens bus station. This bus later passed via Arriva Merseyside, Centrebus (#29) to Bellamy, Nottingham after which it went for scrap.
Preserved Travel West Midlands M.C.W. Metrobus 3053, F 53 XOF is pictured at showbus 2017, Donnington Park.
MTL acquired numerous used vehicles during the 1990s, one of which was former Sunderland Busways M.C.W. bodied Leyland Fleetline 378, VCU 378 T which was initially loaned to Heysham Travel before being permanently allocated to Fareway. The Sunderland Busways livery was similar to Heysham Travel's and the vehicle doesn't look out of place when pictured at Middleton Road depot, Heysham.
Shoreline Suncruisers open top M.C.W. Metrobus B 198 WUL was originally numbered M1198 in the London Buses fleet, passing to Metroline upon privatisation. It is pictured coming onto Scarborough seafront whilst working a Northbound working.
Preserved Strathtay M.C.W. Metrorider 213, E 186 BNS is pictured at a bus rally at Brough. This bus was new to Strathclyde's Buses (#M89) before being transferred to G.C.T. (#GM47) and later to Kelvin Central (#1059 then MM34 & finally MM89). It was later sold to Yorkshire Traction, initially for spares but deemed too good for that and placed in service numbered 352 before being transferred to Strathtay where it remained until being bought for preservation.
Alexander RH bodied M.C.W. Metrobus UWW 514 X was originally numbered 7514 in the West Yorkshire P.T.E. fleet but had become a hospitality unit for the Holme Christian Community in Bradford when pictured at a bus rally at Leeds United Football Club's Elland Road Stadium.
Country Bus London General liveried M.C.W. Metrobus WYW 57 T is pictured on display at Showbus 2006, Duxford. Originally numbered M57 in the London Transport fleet this passed to Metroline upon privatisation and served with White Rose Travel, Sullivan Buses & Carousel Buses before being acquired by Country Bus.

Yorkshire Terrier M.C.W. Metrobus 1740, POG 512 Y was new to West Midlands P.T.E. (#2512) and is pictured in Sheffield city centre. Thsi bus was later transferred to Yorkshire Traction (#723) and numbered 15960 by Stagecoach when they acquired the Yorkshire Traction Group of companies.

MTL Lancashire Travel M.C.W. Metrobus 3144, JHE 144 W was new to South Yorkshire Transport (#1844) and was being used by Heysham Travel when photographed in Torrisholme. This was one of a number of Rolls Royce engined Metrobuses transferred within MTL to Heysham Travel from Lancashire Travel but quickly returned due to their thirst for fuel.
A pair of Merseybus vehicles are pictured at Bolton Moor Lane bus station when the operator was running services competing with G.M. Buses. On the left is M.C.W. bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68 1813, PKA 727 S whilst Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian 252, F 252 YTJ stands on the right.

Lancashire Travel M.C.W. Metrobus 3505, JUM 505 V is pictured at Wigan bus station. This bus was new to West Yorkshire P.T.E. (#7505), passing to Yorkshire Rider upon its formation before being acquired by MTL. It was later transferred to Heysham Travel before being sold to Earnside, Glenfarg and eventually passing into preservation.
Preserved J. Fishwick & Sons Leyland Olympian 7, 521 CTF is pictured at a rally at Walton-le-Dale park & ride, having also served with Green Bus, Great Wyrley (#14) before passing into preservation. These vehicles were a Leyland / M.C.W. integral product bodied at the Weymann factory and were a lightweight version of the Leyland Olympic which used Royal Tiger running units, whereas the Olympian was basically an integral version of Leyland's Tiger Cub. Integral construction methods weren't as popular in the 1950s as nowadays and the Olympian was quite a rare beast, though the Olympian name was revived in 1980 for Leyland's new double decker which went on to sell in the thousands to worldwide customers, production being continued by Volvo until the late 1990s following he acquisition of Leyland.
Stagecoach used the transfer of its operations in East Lancashire to Blazefield Holdings as an opportunity to rid its fleets of some non-standard vehicle types with these being transferred to Stagecoach Ribble a few weeks prior to the change with standard types being transferred to other fleets in return. The non-Standard types included a batch of M.C.W. Metrobuses from Stagecoach Manchester that were new to Greater Manchester Transport, these included 1223, MRJ 40 W that was originally numbered 5040 in the G.M.T. fleet and pictured outside Burnley bus station. After service with Burnley & Pendle this bus passed to Davies Coaches, Plean.

In the mid-1990s the Bee Line Buzz Company leased a number of M.C.W. Metrobuses from Travel West Midlands in order to reduce the age profile of its fleet. These included 793, GOG 139 W that was numbered 2139 in the Travel West Midlands fleet and was pictured on layover in Chorlton Street, Manchester. These buses were returned at the end of their lease period.

Shoreline Suncruisers open top M.C.W. Metrobus C 346 BUV was originally numbered M1348 in the London Buses fleet, passing to Metroline upon privatisation. It is pictured working a southbound journey on Scarborough seafront.

City Sightseeing open top M.C.W. Metrobus 321, LAT 501 V was new to Kingston-Upon-Hull City Transport (#501) and was allocated to the Blackpool Transport (#821) operated Blackpool tour when pictured at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
London General open top M.C.W. Metrobus OM171, VLT 71 (ex-BYX 171 V) was new to London Buses (#M171) and is pictured in Greenwich. It later passed to Ensignbus where it was re-registered KGY 158 V and used in the City Sightseeing (#358) fleet before eventually being sold for scrap.
Redroute Buses M.C.W. Metrobus B 229 WUL was originally numbered M1229 in the London Buses fleet passing to Arriva upon privatisation and is pictured near Victoria station, London. This bus was working Transport for London service 185 when the operator was one of several who were brought in to run this route following the sudden demise of the contract holder.
New in 1979, Metrobus M6 (WYW6T) is now over thirty years old. Withdrawn in 2001, the bus has been at Cobham since 2003, and has been extensively refurbished. Having sampled several buses, our final ride of the day was the Metrobus to Weybridge Station where this photograph was taken.
City Sightseeing open top M.C.W. Metrobus 322, LAT 502 V was new to Kingston-Upon-Hull City Transport (#502) and was allocated to the Blackpool Transport (#822) operated Blackpool tour when pictured at a rally in Fleetwood.
Leyland 'Tiger Cub' PSUC1/1 with M.C.W. B45F body. Acquired from Thomas Bros, Port Talbot in 1971 and numbered 319 by S.W.T., later converted for towing. Photographed at Neath depot, date unrecorded.

Preserved Greater Manchester Transport M.C.W. Metrobus 5001, GBU 1 V is pictured in Leyland whilst being repainted back into its original livery. This bus was sold by G.M.T. in 1986, passing to London buses (#M1443) and to Leaside Buses upon privatisation after which it served with the Lea Valley division of County Bus before passing to Arriva The Shires (#5351). It also spent around a year re-registered as OPP 741 V.
Heysham Travel M.C.W. bodied Leyland Fleetline SDA 533 S is pictured at Middleton Road depot, Heysham. This bus was new to West Midlands P.T.E. (#6533) and was numbered 533 after the MTL takeover of Heysham Travel though it had a short career here, being withdrawn following a serious engine fire, though it served as a seat store for some time after withdrawal before finally being scrapped.
