The crew of the Sulaco in hypersleep, en route to LV426.
Some Aliens movie trivia for you: There were 15 crew members on board the Sulaco - so the number of cryo pods in this picture is movie-accurate!!
If you watch the excellent 'Making of Aliens' documentary on Youtube you'll find they used the same mirror technique to multiply the number of cryo pods in the movie scene. This was in the days before CGI of course.
PS. This shot has not been photoshopped atall - although in retrospect it could have done with a little to remove the mirror line across the floor.

The marines approach the colony complex in the APC. The atmospheric processor glowers in the distance beyond the storm wall.
APC design by Larry Lars with some mods to the front end by me. www.flickr.com/photos/28192677@N06/3599470850

Tricks used: I only had 5 sections of the storm wall so I used a mirror to extend the wall into the distance and a little bit of photoshop to hide the mirror edges. The atmospheric processor silhouette is made of plates and positioned about 1 metre behind the wall to ensure it's out-of-focus in the shot. I used an iPad displaying a flat field of colour for the background and foreground lighting.

The M56A2 Smartgun is a specialist heavy weapon carried by one Colonial Marine in each squad. Using electrical pulse action, it fires 600 10x28mm caseless high-explosive rounds at a rate of 1200 rpm. Despite the fact that the weapon weighs nearly 40 pounds, it can be easily carried and operated with the assistance of a servo-controlled harness. It is called a "smart gun" because the weapons fire is guided by an infrared tracking system on top of the gun's barrel and on a head-mounted goggle system, guided by a targeting processor in the harness.
Pachow! This came outta nowhere, its kinda rough in some areas.
When you need to rescue a colony, make sure you've got your smart gun handy.
*May cause acidic blood to explode everywhere.
*Is not guaranteed to work effectively in CQC.
*Probably wont help you get off LV426.
Guaranteed to make you look like one bad mother fucker.

Inspiration-new Ridley Scott's movie PROMETHEUS.The film will future story of the famous SPACE JOCKEY who appears in 1979 ALIEN as a corroded former pilot of a derelict spaceship.
Big rumour about this film. Unofficial Alien Prequel may contain more links to Alien than Ridley Scott is leading us to believe.....!

Sgt. Windrix - a rank-and-file servicemember of the United States Colonial Marine Corps (USCMC) - finds himself on yet another armed patrol on the surface of LV-1201. The seemingly-desolate rocky surface of this alien world was in actuality a contested home between the alien species known as the "Xenomorphs," and the spacefaring Yautja, better known as the "Predators." After intercepting a distress signal from an ill-fated Weyland-Yutani research laboratory falling victim to both extraterrestrial species, the Colonial Marines found themselves deployed halfway across the star cluster to search for survivors, secure the facility, and eliminate any and all hostiles found in-between. The ill-fated USCMC mission to LV-426 had become the stuff of legends among Marines like Windrix, and he has since resolved that he will never allow himself or his fellow grunts to fall prey on LV-1201, or any other planet they find themselves deployed to.
Two of my custom Colonial Marines wearing the helmets I made.
Seeing this picture reminded me of Anthony Hopkins' line in A Bridge Too Far after the British Paras arrived in Arnhem : 'We're wearing the wrong camouflage.'
