George C Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary

With the weather forecast predicting glum for the near future, I thought to look back at some shots from the summer.

A slightly different perspective than the other posted one.

This was taken during a longer-than-usual lunch walk. It seems like a long 2 months ago...

A good hand-shaped burger on a homemade bun, made this lunch extra special. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the veggies were fresh. Healthy? I don't know - but it sure was good.

In the Philippines the malls are full of students at lunch time. They eat there and enjoy the cool air.

My sister and brother-in-law came and took us out for lunch today, on their way down South to visit friends.

Got taken to the lovely restaurant in town and it was still fine enough to eat outside - even better.

The top photo was of my entrée and the lower one of my main meal. I didn't have a pudding, but did have the small chocolate brownie from Sarah's pudding.

We last met up in 2017, which was a long time ago. Hopefully, they'll be able to come over again next year.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)

SSC - Food and Drink

I enjoyed this one even though I very rarely photograph food and not understanding why so many people put their meals on media! Anyway I decided I had to use something I could eat cold and refrigerate the leftovers (I hate wasting food!) and it is a hot day (Tuesday) so here is one of my favourite lunches.

Walking around and lunch to take pictures also means that I invariably end up interrupting other people's lunches. Luckily, Andrew (front) did not seem to mind, As I was about to shoot, John (in the cab) looked up, so I merely requested that, if he could look at me, that would be great.

Neither of them seemed to have a problem with my "No Smile" request.

Perfect lunch spot in Muir Woods National Monument.

The tallest coastal redwood in Muir Woods is about 258 feet. The average age of redwoods here is between 600 and 800 years, with the oldest being at least 1,200 years old.

I made it ... and ate it! 😊

I've made my own sushi for many years. This is the simplest version, and made in very small rolls. Sushi rice - which is sweet and sticky, umeboshi plums (very salty!) all wrapped in a sheet of nori seaweed. Then sushi ginger and wasabi paste as garnishes. Here I have added wasabi peas too.

I made it for the Macro Monday challenge "I made this" .... but sadly I didn't see that food is excluded from this week /0\

but I did end up with a delicious lunch 😊

I was out shooting with my grandson Aidan and we got plenty of shots of him fishing for baby fishes. He then hopped under the shed and decided to take a rest. I did like wise. Lucky Aidan noticed he flew below and came back with something in his mouth. By then he go my attention and I ran towards the tree and realised that he has caught himself a mice. I must have fired at least 50 shots and only managed to get just ONE shot where the light shown through the canopy. Lucky me!

Lunch time workers, on the South Bank

We had lunch at the rather obviously named View Cafe. A little off the beaten track by Phuket standards but I am pleased to report that the lunch was as good as the view! This looks out towards the east, with Phang Nga Bay off to the left and Phuket Town and Chalong down below

Couldn't resist catching this little girl while we were having a coffee and she was waiting for her lunch to arrive at the next table.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)
