The other day we drove down to Elk Rapids to a Walk in the Park. Nice to be out side too. Packed a lunch and although it was cool we sat in the car had lunch and enjoyed this view.
One of my last clicks taken today visiting the Susquehanna River. This eagle came in close then turned in the sunlight. Lunch tucked tight to keep other talons off it.
Really liked the details on those talons, the poor fish, and the feather shadows being cast as well.

City Lunch a lot of small towns have a place like this, been around for more than 60 years now, famous with locals for hot dogs and cheese burgers, where you can have a good lunch for less than 3 bucks, it is small and crowded and the decor never changes, really good place to eat, found in North Carolina.

After a very slow morning at Burnham Prairie, I was about to pack it up and go home when a disturbance in the water caught my curiosity.
A northern water snake had caught a very large catfish by the head and was trying its hardest to subdue its victim. The snake finally went under the water with its meal and was never seen again.

Quick check of the time stamp on this one, should indicate there was some urgency in my drive back to work after I quickly snapped this shot. After lifting some fresh paint at NSC the 0700 heads back towards the yard to complete todays trip to Hamilton's Industrial sector.
