Edificio Libertador seen from Puerto Madero.
The army headquarters Edificio Libertador was the real focus of Argentine political power for many decades.
Argentine military of the 1920s, lacked a commensurate headquarters, and had been housed since the late 19th century in a Montserrat neighbourhood structure formerly used by the National Mint.
Seeking to remedy this, President Agustín Justo (a retired general and former War Minister) ordered the construction of a new War Ministry.
Designed by Ministry of Public Works architects Enrique Lopardo, Néstor Pastrana, and Héctor Campini, the twenty-story, 82,625 m² (889,000 ft²) building would be the largest in Argentina up to that point.
The building isdivided into three sections: two wings to be anchored by a central section.
The structure, was designed in French Renaissance style and begun in 1938. It was equipped with Siemens elevators and communications networks, whose installation was overseen by German engineers.
The new building was inaugurated in April 1943..
President Juan Perón renamed the landmark Edificio Libertador in 1950 to honour the centennial of the death of General José de San Martín (known locally as the Liberator of Argentina, Chile and Peru)

🇬🇧 While walking up the Selarón steps, I caught this scene: a woman stepping past the artist’s ceramic manifesto. The message reads like a muralized shout:
Living in a favela is an art. Nobody robs. Nobody hears. No one is lost. All are lost. Obey those who give orders.
Everything here is contradiction — bright tiles framing harsh truths, and the silent body moving across a wall that screams.

I walk by my favourite building on Srathcona's Heatley Street at least twice a week. It might be my favourite Strathcona building or high on the list. Click, click.
The building was sold a couple of years ago and the new owners updated the building curb appeal.

The solar eclipse was an amazing thing to watch and millions of others thought so as well. We were at a beautiful park within a few miles of the central line with a small number of others including many families enjoying the show. Getting to location and driving home was a challenge to say the least, but well worth the effort.
I was fortunate to capture the entire event as well as several sun flares at totality, two can be seen in this image, one at about 6:00 and the other at about 2:00. I have better pictures showing the numerous sun flares which I hope to process as time allows as well as creating a composite of the eclipse from start to finish.
Image temperature was warmed and colors enhanced in photoshop, otherwise this would simply be a black and white picture.
Hope you all enjoy this one.

Padova, like most cities has a large compliment of street art. This one "Spray Man" at Via Nazario Sauro 35139 is by Padova street artist Kenny Random.
Random is apparently the most famous street artist in Padova..

Slogging up Haifa side streets adjacent to Baha'i Gardens to check out a view from the top we stopped for a rest and asked cat for directions.
Cat ignored our pleas but did a fine pose pointing and directing us to continue uphill.
