Der Salzgittersee ist ein 2,1 km langer und 0,8 km breiter See im Westen des Salzgitteraner Stadtteils Lebenstedt, Niedersachsen. In dem 75 ha großen künstlich geschaffenen See befindet sich eine 25 ha große Insel, die über eine Brücke zu erreichen ist.

Ein schöner Rundgang durch Hildesheim führt entlang der so genannten Rosenroute, die den Weg zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten des heutigen Stadtkerns weist. Sie beginnt neben der Touristeninformation am Marktplatz und ist durch Bronzeplatten oder auf das Pflaster gemalte Rosen gekennzeichnet. Eine Begleitbroschüre zur Rosenroute ist in der Touristeninformation erhältlich. Für die gesamte Strecke benötigt man gut vier Stunden, jedoch lässt sich die Route auch abkürzen oder beliebig verlängern.

Nicht weit entfernt vom Marktplatz befindet sich der Schuhhof, der älteste Platz in Goslar. Ihn umrahmen stattliche Fachwerkhäuser und die Arkaden des Schuhmacher-Gildehauses. Die Erstehung der Häuser aus den ehemaligen schmalen Marktbuden ist noch heute zu erkennen.
Not far from the market square is the Schuhhof, the oldest square in Goslar. It is surrounded by stately half-timbered houses and the arcades of the shoemaker's guild hall. The emergence of the houses from the former narrow market stalls can still be seen today.
We are in Calgary's airport (YYC) waiting for our connecting Air Canada flight to Winnipeg. A sunset entertained us during the wait.
The Calgary Air Canada lounge is very nice.
