The name of the village of Lower Slaughter stems from the Old English name for a wet land 'slough' or 'slothre' (Old English for muddy place) upon which it lies. This quaint village sits beside the little Eye stream and is known for its unspoilt limestone cottages in the traditional Cotswold style.
The stream running through the village is crossed by two small bridges.

My favorite falls in Hocking Hills raging after the snow melt and heavy rain. Glad to see the water breaking free again just in time for March and the Spring to come.

This photograph was taken from the Heritage Bridge of Lower Seletar Reservoir looking towards Orchid Country Club before sunrise.
The clouds were illuminated differently by the rising sun, with some of the clouds illuminated brightly. These clouds and vegetation were reflected in the calm surface of the reservoir, forming various visual cues.
Lower Kachura Lake, also known as Shangrila Lake, is a lake located near the city of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Giant reflections glimmer in the Hudson river providing an extra dimension to the colossal nature of the architecture of Lower Manhattan. The site of the original colony of New Amsterdam, that eventually became New York City, Lower Manhattan is now most frequently associated with wall street and the financial district. Love Life, Love Photography
This black and white photograph was taken this morning before sunrise at Lower Seletar Reservoir, with the Heritage Bridge providing locational reference. There cloud formations appear to converge into the far distance, and mirror-like reflections in the Reservoir provide interesting contrast to the Bridge.

Lower Yellowstone Falls and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I took this shot back in 2006, shortly after I bought my first DSLR. I somehow had the white balance set for fluorescent lighting and at that time I didn't do any post processing. I have learned a lot since then. It's actually a decent shot after a post processing makeover! HSS
A half-second exposure of a cascade below Merriman Falls near Olympic National Park, with moss-covered boulders in the foreground.
One of my favorite places to spend time at: the lower falls at Southford Falls State Park just before the covered bridge. Just feeds the soul with peaceful waterfall sounds and gorgeous scenery. The full color version can be found here.

In September 1975, we crossed a number of huge snow bridges. As we passed under the huge snow bridge, we were soaked with very cold drips from ice.
Kurobe Gorge, Northern Alps, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, Our great adventure with my best friend, September 1975.
Kurobe Gorge is one of the three major valleys in Japan. We went up from Keyakidaira (Zelkova flat) to Kuro-yon-dam (Kurobe No. 4 Dam) in a 30 km valley called the Shimonorouka (Lower corridor) in 3days and 2night.
More from my archives since we can't travel...memories are fun to revisit.
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is the most breathtaking sight inside Yellowstone National Park. Twenty miles long, the canyon is up to 4,000-feet wide and 1,200-feet deep in places. It's located on the eastern side of the park. From several vantage points, you can view Lower Falls plunging steeply into the canyon 308 feet, or the Upper Falls tumbling 109 feet.
At 308 feet, the Lower Falls is the tallest waterfall in the park. In terms of height alone, it’s more than twice the size of Niagara Falls per Yellowstone National Park Service.
