A dramatic, low-angle monochrome perspective of the Parish Church of St. Mary in Qrendi, Malta. Completed in 1712, this Baroque masterpiece is captured here focusing on its intricate facade and the heraldic symbols above the main portal. The Latin inscription "Hic Domus Dei Est Et Porta Coeli" (This is the House of God and the Gate of Heaven) is visible, framed by dynamic clouds that emphasize the height and spiritual presence of the architecture.
... so I reduced the saturation till I liked it :-)

A quiet morning on the streets of Bordeaux, captured just after the rain. A puddle stretches across the cobblestones, perfectly mirroring the symmetry of the classical Haussmann-style architecture. The subdued tones and empty street evoke a serene, contemplative atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Lone woman walks up steep stairs coming out from dark underground tunnel into bright light, at the ancient Zoroastrian cemetery in Yazd, Iran.
"SOCRATES: Do you think the one who had gotten out of the cave would still envy those within the cave and would want to compete with them who are esteemed and who have power? Or would not he or she much rather wish... "to live on the land [above ground] as the paid menial of another destitute peasant"? Wouldn't he or she prefer to put up with absolutely anything else rather than associate with those opinions that hold in the cave and be that kind of human being?
GLAUCON: I think that he would prefer to endure everything rather than be that kind of human being."

A dramatic low-angle view of the magnificent pipe organ within St Laurence's Church, Ludlow. Often referred to as the "Cathedral of the Marches," the church houses this incredible instrument, which features prominently against the historic masonry and timbered ceilings.
The golden hues of the pipes are brought to life by the ambient light, creating a powerful sense of verticality and grandeur.
This swan (it was a pair of swans) initially approached me with a slight hiss, until it finally tolerated my presence. The image captures it as it is dabbling. Taken from a low-angle perspective.
