Bern is the seat of government of Switzerland. The Aare River, which flows around Bern, has cut deeply into the city and placed it on a plateau. Therefore, the bridges connecting the city with the outer quarters span the Aare at a height of about 50 meters.
Een sijs (Spinus spinus) drinkt voorzichtig aan de rand van een plas, terwijl zijn spiegelbeeld zichtbaar is in het rustige water.
Deze kleine vinkachtige is vaak te vinden in elzen en berken, waar hij zaden zoekt.
De subtiele gele vleugelstrepen en het gestreepte verenkleed maken de soort goed herkenbaar.
De lage opnamehoek zorgt voor een rustige achtergrond en een mooie reflectie van de vogel.

The AWACS aircraft, built by Russians, is designed to detect, track and determine the origin of air and surface targets, as well as conduct surveillance, command, control and communications functions for command posts of automatic control systems, and give guidance in hitting air and surface targets. The site of this AWACS aircraft was a treat to the eyes. It looked magnificent with wings spread out against beautiful blue sky with white clouds. People who came for Air Force Day celebration weren't allowed near any aircraft. I had to manipulate my way to the aircraft to click this amazing Ultra Wide Shot!

beach walk ... the wooden remnants reminded me of an ancient castle or a rocky island ... with a bit of fantasy ;-) ... I was wondering whether people put it up or whether it was a result of the natural working of the elements.
I like the convenience of this smartphone with its three lenses and in camera processing... amazing how far technology got . It still isn't the quality of a real camera. Got a bit lazy ;-)
Simhadri or Simhachalam is a Hindu temple located in Visakhapatnam city suburb of Simhachalam in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Narasimha (the man-lion), an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The central shrine was built in Kalinga architectural style!

A swan and the full moon at sunset at Horn Pond in Woburn, MA, in the Boston suburbs. Taken with iPhone 6s and edited in Snapseed. And by the way, taking photos with my phone held out over water like this is why I have a wrist strap on my iPhone case!
I used Instagram's location browse to scope out all the nearby ponds and see which ones had swans living there, and I used The Photographer’s Ephemeris (iOS app) to figure out which ponds would have good sunset angles at this time of year. The combination of those led me to Horn’s Pond, and it was such a perfect spot, I will definitely be going back.
Hmm... This comment might take away a little from the beauty and serenity of the scene, but I keep thinking it's sort of freaky how you can see through the swan's nostril and out the other side.
My first swirly bokeh creation with Helios 44-2, a Russian old lens.
It's a relief that I managed to manipulate this manual focusing lens!
