i'm an e-reader holdout. i like the feel of a book in my hands. i love turning the textured pages and seeing printed words. books soothe me not only with their phrases, characters, and stories, but with their heft.
ps: i'm also completely in love with the public library.
It looks like I'm never prepared to let go, although, through the years, I've lost a lot of my fur kids, each of them deeply loved.

My beloved Mishu - July 2016-July 2019
Sept 2017 story
Among all our cats, Mishu and Mushi were the only ones we trusted to stay outside without a human to watch over them. That wasn't the smartest choice because curiosity killed the cat, and we can never be too careful.
Three weeks ago, the quiet of a Saturday evening was broken by a tremendous meowing on the porch.
It was Mishu, very confused and with some drops of blood on his back legs. We went immediately to the vet (thank God for the emergency room) and the result was that was a car accident with a lightly injured bladder, broken basin, plus lots of skin scratches.
After three days in the veterinarian hospital, we could take him home, the only big problem, the broken basin can't be fixed by surgery and needs time to recover.
He was so smart to crawl home in that condition, otherwise...
We are so happy that he's alive and well ❤
Now he is on guard on every door, waiting for it to open :( but no more cats outside, life is so precious!
