All the photos I present were taken in towns and on the beaches near Taormina (Sicily-Italy); I made photos related to "street photography and beach photography"; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the street or on the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------

I wasn't sure about uploading this picture.
I was watching this lady whilst i was having a coffee. She looked lost in her thoughts and dare i say alone. I didn't want to invade her privacy but felt compelled to take the picture.
Another one of those little mysteries. I was roaming around the Civic Center in Milpitas, California when I came across this pair of earrings and cheap ring on a concrete retaining wall. I had to wonder, what was the story here?
A broken romance? A love lost? Somebody just took them off and forgot them? Oh well, I'll never know now.

This young girl looked completely lost the time I saw her at the overseas terminal at Circular Quay, well that is the impression that visited me.I did hang around for a wee bit and eventually her mum showed up thank goodness ! She looked so innocent clutching her soft toy, happy endings!
Happy Birthday Torey! Today is my first born's 27th birthday. She went with me to Rome to visit my youngest daughter, her sister.
My favorite part was getting lost. This is one of those times. Seems fitting that Torey is leading the way, the first to realize we took a few wrong turns, thanks to my terrible sense of direction.
Since the day she was born, she has been my compass. Keeps me from being lost, losing myself - which is much different than getting lost on an adventure where the journey is more important than the destination.

This little car was lost. Somebody left it on its own, and it decided life on riverside land is quite good. Early June 2019.
Taken with Nikon F80 film camera and Nikkor AF 50mm F1.8D lens, on Agfa Vista+ 200 film. 1/60 exposure, ƒ/2.4, box speed at 200 ASA. Scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 8100 film scanner using VueScan 9.5.
More from this shoot . . . . I really just can't get enough of this look . . . so forlorn, lost . . . it just so evokes the mood and feel of a dickens novel. I just love how pale her skin was in the setting.
And editing here was my soft color pop (desaturated a bit), my soft filter and then a texture from my worn set.
