Bachelor Loop Interpretive Drive above Creede, Colorado, is a stunning 17-mile do-it-yourself historical tour that passes some of the most well-preserved mines, ghost towns, and deserted buildings in the state. Roads are not technical, but you will feel more secure in a 4WD.

The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a narrow gauge heritage railway located in Clear Creek County, Colorado in the United States. The Georgetown Loop Railroad was one of Colorado’s first visitor attractions. Completed in 1884, this spectacular stretch of narrow gauge railroad was considered an engineering marvel for its time. The thriving mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume lie two miles apart in steep, narrow Clear Creek west of Denver. To connect them, engineers designed a corkscrew route that traveled nearly twice that distance, slowly gaining more than 600 feet in elevation. It included horseshoe curves, grades of up to 4 percent, and four bridges across Clear Creek, including the massive Devil’s Gate High Bridge. The Colorado & Southern Railway operated the line for passengers and freight until 1938. Originally part of the larger line of Colorado Central Railroad constructed in the 1870s and 1880s, it was later dismantled, but was restored in the 1980s to operate during summer months as a tourist railroad, carrying passengers using historic narrow-gauge steam locomotives.
In 1959, the centennial year of the discovery of gold in Georgetown, the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park was formed by the Colorado Historical Society. The Colorado Historical Society’s chairman negotiated a donation of mining claims and mills, and nearly 100 acres of land. Rail line construction began in 1973 with track and ties donated by the Union Pacific Railroad.
The four-mile segment opened on March 10, 1884 and is a restored segment at the upper end of the historic Colorado Central main line up Clear Creek Canyon west of Golden. It climbs approximately 640 feet between the two towns. The longer main line up the canyon was constructed in the wake of the Colorado Gold Rush and was used extensively during the silver boom that followed in the 1880s to haul the lucrative silver ore traffic down from the mines at Silver Plume. The Loop portion of the line was the crowning segment of the line at the top of the gorge and features a 95-foot high trestle. The entire line, including the Loop, was dismantled in 1939, but interest in restoration of the Loop segment as a tourist attraction in the 1970s led to the construction of a new high bridge and the refurbishment of the segment, which reopened in 1984.
The train ride includes an optional walking tour of the Lebanon Silver Mine, located at the halfway point on the railroad. Visitor walk 500 feet into a mine tunnel bored in the 1870s while guides point out the rich veins of silver and the history of the mine.
Passengers board the train at depots located in either Silver Plume or Georgetown. (Wikipedia)
The Ormond Beach Loop is a scenic drive in Volusia County, running through and north of the town of Ormond Beach. The scenic drive crosses and runs amongst numerous waterways and salt marshes, including the Tomoka River, Halifax River, and Bulow Creek. These shots were taken from the roadway which runs between Bulow Creek State Park and Tomoka Island State Park, crossing the Tomoka River in the process.

This one is for my good friend Travis Van Hoff, who, if you don't know, is the front man for the wonderful up-and-coming pop/rock band, VanLadyLove. Travis made the suggestion that I hike in the Alpine Loop today. This is a small creek above American Fork Canyon, the name of which I don't know. I love the tree, just about to fall, but hanging on, roots exposed.

This 1972 Chrysler Newport Royal is one of a total of 130,305 Newports produced for the model-year.
Of this total, 85,244 were the Newport Royal subseries (the base model), and of that figure, 47,437 were four-door sedans like this one, the most popular individual model of all Newports produced that year.
Base price for the Newport Royal sedan: $4,051.
For the sake of comparison, a 1972 Buick LeSabre Custom four-door pillared (non-hardtop) sedan went for $4,047.
This particular example was seen while leaving my neighborhood while en route to the Chicago Auto Show with some friends.

"Photography is a craft that is acquired over many years!"
And the camera is only the tool!
When not 'dictated' by a client, I take images that come out of my brain, the birth of the idea, the development of it, my vision and the creation, my enjoyment and the challenge, the hype and the anticipation, the struggle and disappointment of the failures, the gathering of your courage to try again... the stamina, the madness some love to call passion?
The playing with light, to me, the ultimate high, I don't need anything else. Once the image is there, I'm content, and if it 'inspires' others, releases an emotion, that's wonderful!
And I've seen how my photos have 'inspired' many!
I'm not stupid to think that everybody is going to like, let alone understand my image, but I can easily live with that, because I do not have that expectation!
I, in the first place, have to be happy with it, the quality, the composition, EVERYTHING, it has to be immaculate, I have to stand by it 100% or the outside world will NEVER see it!
That goes for my pro AND my free work (what you see here).
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope that you enjoyed my 'rave'?
Take care, all the best and above all... enjoy your photography.
If the day comes I don't enjoy it anymore... I'll GIVE AWAY all my gear (it's a lot, gathered over the years, please don't hold your breath, heeeee), M, (*_*)

When we first arrived to Loop Head we were pretty disappointed at the fog. But I think it ended up providing a really cool atmosphere to shoot in.
A fine mess: In 2017, an agreement was announced that the General Services Administration would sell these buildings to the City of Chicago, which in turn would flip them to a developer for redevelopment. The 16-story Century Building (202), designed by Holabird & Roche and completed in 1916, would be rehabilitated and expanded as 159 furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments. The 22-story Consumers Building (220), designed by Jenny, Mundie & Jensen and completed in 1913, would house approximately 270 micro apartments. The 212 property would be demolished and replaced with a 15-story structure connected 202 S. State St. The historic features of 214 would be retained in a new two-story building. However, in December 2019 the city backed out of the deal, citing fears from Federal officials that the buildings could be used to fire shots into the Dirksen Federal Building to the west. NOTE: In July 2022, the Commission on Chicago Landmarks announced it will review whether the buildings should be granted landmark status. Despite being in the Loop Retail Historic District, the lack of designation makes the properties subject to demolition. NOTE 2: A demolition permit is to be issued for the 212 building in April 2023.

The Fallowfield loop line was opened in 1892 and ran round the south side of Manchester, linking Sheffield Victoria with Manchester Central.
The large building in the background was Reddish MPD which was opened in 1954, to maintain the EM1 and EM2 locomotives that would operate over the 1500v DC Woodhead Line and also the 506 emu's which operated the Manchester-Glossop services.
The depot closed on the 30th July 1983 and the last freight train on the Fallowfield Loop Line was behined 47443 on a Freightliner from Trafford Park in October 1988.
This was the view from Station Road looking towards Hyde Road Junc a few months after the line had closed, the Fallowfield Loop line is now a cycle path.

The fruit loops candle has a flashpoint of 136 degrees. It is made to be applied in wax candles, simmering oil burners, potpourri refresher, rings for lamp bulb, smelly jellies, sachets, incense, refresher sprays, body and bath products. It gives a lovely smell of fruit loops and you would sure...
I added little hanging loops as my leaf stems. These coasters could hang up in the kitchen or hang easily to dry once wet.
Fall-inspired leaf coasters.
The many guises of the inchworm (name for the larvae of moths of the family Geometridae)
An inchworm mimics a twig on a leaf on its silk-laden nest territory at the extremity of a tree. Some of the leaves on this end appear to have been foraged upon.
Inchworms regularly drop from their nests on trees. However, many are fortunate enough not to suffer a hard landing on the bare ground below. The larvae often have silk attached to the trees from their bodies to prevent a complete drop. The same silk strand helps them to pull back up from a half-drop back to the nest on their host tree.
The last photo shows a fallen inchworm suspended mid air by a silk thread. It was seen dangling and twisting as it pulled its way back home.
