Running quite early, Colas Rail Freight 70814 sits at Preston on 20/12/18 in the wee hours. The 6C37/2225 Chirk Kronospan Colas Rail to Carlisle Yard Colas Rail empty logs were running early, and so the working was looped in platform 1 (platforms 4 to 7 were under possession) to allow some faster freights to pass.

In southern Alberta at this time of year, our two native cacti can be seen in bloom, the Plains Prickly-pear Cactus and the Pincushion or Ball Cactus. In Kinbrook Island Provincial Park we saw scads of each, along with other wildlife which I'll feature later. It's not a big park, but we managed a 9 km loop hike, combining a couple of their well-marked trails. Kinbrook Island is a piece of land on Lake Newell, near Brooks, Alberta, and it is connected to the mainland by two causeways which we included in our walk. It was a hot day, and we ended our hike with a dip in the lake.
Early 1930 CWS loop frame. There was a lot of work to do on this cycle, but it cleaned up wonderfully. The rear 28" tyre has been re-spoked to fit a K model SA hub. The cycle originally came with a single speed which was a pain riding up hills.
Gave the Miss' some period correct accessories minus an umbrella clamp, which I am still looking for. The rear tail lamp has shifted over to the left side to avoid police tickets while riding at night(jerks!).
This mural in a Chicago restaurant depicts the Chicago Loop circa the late 1950s. A "Flat-Door-Six" (if you know your CTA slang) is operating on the Loop Elevated as a Yellow Cab (made by Checker-Marathon) is on the street beneath it.
This is a stylized representation of the Loop and I'm not sure which street it's supposed to represent. My guess is that it's likely Wabash Avenue, assuming that it was a two-way street back then (Wabash is now a one-way, southbound street).

Work continued through Saturday night and, as seen here on Sunday morning, is progressing in the area at and south of Tower 12 (Wabash/Van Buren junction). Ties and tracks are being laid where just 24 hours before the 'L' structure was bare. After a weekend of continuous work to renew track, trains from the South Side will resume service over these tracks, bringing thousands of people to and from downtown Monday.

Watched by some of the passengers 'Lady of the Isles' takes on water at Tarmstedt Loop, which was midway between Craignure and Torosay Castle on the Isle of Mull Railway.
The Isle of Mull Railway was a 10 1⁄4 in gauge line and was 1 1⁄4 miles long, running from the ferry terminal at Craignure to Torosay Castle, on the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Inner Hebrides.
The line opened in 1983 with the final trains running on 1st September 2011 hauled by steam locomotive 'Victoria', with the track being lifted the following year in October 2012.

Went down to the loop to take some pictures and eat some BBQ and discovered the Loop Trolley is actually running. This shot of it is kinda blurry because I'm not nearly as good with the D700 as I am with my 5D3.
Three levels on the Loop are illustrated here as two northbound intermodals follow close to each other viewed from a distant hillside at Woodford. The trio of BNSF GE's are supplemented by CSX and Norfolk Southern variants as their train still emerges from Tunnel 10 in the background. The congestion has been caused by a stalled southbound train at Rowen.
