The path here, loops back briefly to Piethorne Reservoir and then over the hill ahead! (Newhey, Rochdale, Lanc's.. UK)

Based on a comment on iNaturalist, I changed the ID from White-fringed Emerals Moth to Blackbury Looper.
NS P87 dodges shadows as it descends the Old Fort Loops on its way east to Bridgewater. A few kudzu-lined fills not withstanding, much of the loops are a tree tunnel much like this location. Incredible to watch and listen to (and plenty useful if you have a drone), but from ground level your options can be a bit limited pending the time of day. With P87 running early this day, 80% sun on the head end was a victory.

At ADM in Tuscola, the elevator employee is probably sighing with relief as the last car of this 90 car grain train is seconds from being completely loaded. Two hours later and the DREI crew will be hopping on to take it east to Hillsdale, where a CSX crew will then take it south. This pair of YN2 AC4400CW locomotives look great and are a nice touch to this train, considering its usual set of fresh GEVOs.

I'm revisiting the photos I took of Bryce Canyon back in 2009, reprocessing many, adding a few, and deleting others.
The HO tracks at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum are patterned after real life stretches of rails. The Tehachapi Loop is a section built to overcome mountainous terrain north of Los Angeles. The train goes into a tunnel, climbs out, then circles over itself to finish its climb.
Willow City Loop is a popular area for wildflower viewing in the spring, near Fredericksburg, TX. Fujifilm X-A1 and XF35/1.4R. Happy Fence Friday.
