Lots of rats to be seen enjoying the weekend's sunshine at RSPB Radipole Lake, but so nice to see Violets in bloom too; a very pretty sign of impending springtime, despite all the recent snow and cold weather!

Work continued through Saturday night and, as seen here on Sunday morning, is progressing in the area at and south of Tower 12 (Wabash/Van Buren junction). Ties and tracks are being laid where just 24 hours before the 'L' structure was bare. After a weekend of continuous work to renew track, trains from the South Side will resume service over these tracks, bringing thousands of people to and from downtown Monday.

Three levels on the Loop are illustrated here as two northbound intermodals follow close to each other viewed from a distant hillside at Woodford. The trio of BNSF GE's are supplemented by CSX and Norfolk Southern variants as their train still emerges from Tunnel 10 in the background. The congestion has been caused by a stalled southbound train at Rowen.

A Church For People Who Don't Like Church
Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church is located at 1595 South Alma School Road, Chandler, AZ 85286 at the southeast corner of Alma School Road and Willis Road just south of the Santan Freeway.
The Santan Freeway is in the southeast valley of Phoenix. Onsite Insite offers the only billboards along a 23-mile stretch of the Santan Freeway. This billboard is between I-10 and the Price Freeway Loop 101 in Chandler.

*The Avenue Motel (on the right in red and blue) was razed, and a condominium tower now occupies this corner. The CPD Headquarters was also razed (in 2003), and a condonimium tower now stands there.

The old streetcar roundabout that stood here, in front of San Francisco's Ferry Building, for more than 50 years is long gone -- as are all of the buildings that used to line the intersection of Market Street and The Embarcadero. "The only thing this place has going for it is the location. Do not be tempted to just walk right in, even though it's a convenient stop on your sightseeing tour. I've had better food at WAFFLE HOUSE.
We stopped in for breakfast. It was among the worst meals I've ever had. The eggs in my cheese omelet were classically overcooked, which wasn't so bad, but the omelet was filled with some food-service version knockoff of Kraft cheese slices. Hours later, I can't get the taste of it out of my mouth. The hash browns were more like frozen, reheated potato mush that's been warmed over. The greek cofee ($3.50) was decent, but served in a tiny, tiny cup that was half-sludge. My partner's two eggs were fried into rubbery oblivion.
28 crazy overpriced bucks for the worst breakfast of my life, counting the meals I've had on airplanes and in school cafeterias. Our waiter was nice, but had a strange air about him that, in retrospect, we can probably best categorize as "pity."
