Life is a pure flame, and we live by an invisible sun within us.

-- Thomas Browne

I want summer now! I´m tired of the snow, and falling on my butt all the time, having a cold, and just having all this amazing ideas that I´m not able to do…

I think I will start the 52 week project again… hehe (I´m all over the place). I really wanna do it :)

Can Summer be here again?

Freedom

The greatest night of my life started with a gnarled root of muscle lodged in my stomach. A pit of despair that only grew as I stepped into the car. As the door shut, angry words began to whirl around my head. Predetermined arguments crashed against my psyche like the waves of a cold, desolate, ocean front. My mind is empty at the moment. Years of this routine have drained me of any compassion towards their emotion. We traveled.

An irritating buzz, much like that of cicadas at sunset, slowly filled the vehicle. In the midst of all the noise one sentence made its way through, burrowing deep within my mind.

Overdose.

A blind hatred for the man next to me erupted from my gut, coursing through my veins like boiling acid. The searing pain rushed through me, aching to escape and manifest itself through force.

I stepped out and began to breathe. Boots weighed heavily on my legs. I ran. Suddenly they were lighter. I ran faster. Soon I would take flight and escape. The anger subsided as I slowed to a walk. I had reached solitude in the form of an empty, open road. The greatest feeling I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing was one of disconnection. Completely alone, unhampered by the chains of another's expectations. This plane of solitude is one on which I belong. To eliminate the idea of my responsibility toward others was not selfish. Peace is something I owe myself, and I have the responsibility to maintain it.

My soul is full of longing

For the secret of the sea,

And the heart of the great ocean

Sends a thrilling pulse through me.

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I have been posting so many textures that I thought I would change it up for another thing I love... the ocean....

I complain about how short the winter days are in Sydney, then there is Melbourne!

Slaves like young Booker T. Washington were not allowed to go to school. When he carried books

to school for his owner’s daughter and saw children in the classroom learning, it made a great impression upon him. He felt that to get into a schoolhouse and study would be the same as getting into paradise.

Sophie really does give me some looks if i don't take her everywhere with me! I was just mixing cement on the drive and she sat and watched through the gate, all the time. I did want a different photo but she just wasn't gonna play ball!!

I've got a different watermark today following comments from yesterday, any better?
