playing around with photoshop using a pic that's not mine. It was found online and is, well porn. I'll leave it up to your imagination to figure out what was going on in the original.

Wishing you were here

Like the beautiful bodies of those who died before growing old,

sadly shut away in sumptuous mausoleum,

roses by the head, jasmine at the feet --

so appear the longings that have passed

without being satisfied, not one of them granted

a single night of pleasure, or one of its radiant mornings.

Still lots of snow covering the ground, but yesterday it started to melt a little! :) It will be a long time before these guys show up, though...

I found this bright red shopping cart on an otherwise rainy and dreary day. It seemed to want to get out into traffic...but I resisted the temptation to help it along.

found an abandoned house! sadly I couldn't get in to explore, since there was a fence and all the windows were boarded up.

as soon as I saw it I realized it'd be perfect for a photo about an outcast--the house itself is an outcast among houses, all boarded up and left to decay, and it doesn't even connect to a real road...

These days find me with a deep sense of longing. The short time in I had in the mountains last week turned out to be unexpectedly moving. It made clear a concept that my Dad was talking to me about a few weeks ago. A concept that I didn't want to listen to, but a concept that needs to become a part of my life. The concept of simplicity. Spending hours a day in traffic is taking its toll. Fighting the crowds of people everywhere I go is taking its toll. Spending the better part of my time in a profession that hold judgement on a pedastal as if it were gold is taking its toll. It's all taking it's toll.

I know I can't run from my brain, but I can certainly change the environment that it lives in. Why can't get away from that which I despise and surround myself with that which I love. This is the only chance I have. The only shot a life. You only get one shot. I need to stop longing and I need to start doing.

I need to find my way out of this trap that I'm in, but I'm scared...

...for the treat in my hand.

Where's the light, the light?

Ignite it with the fire of longing.

Clouds thunder, wind howls

Time passes, but this deep night,

Black as a whetstone, doesn't pass

Light love's lamp with my breath

Ignite it with the fire of longing.

This is a concept that has been in my head for a while. I am quite happy with how it turned out.
