I long for a place that exists in our collective mind, on well-flipped yellowing pages and half forgotten dreams.
Taken at Cerridwen's Cauldron Ground Level, and worked in Photoshop through filters, color, retouch, etc.
Created for Textures for Layers Challenge #24: Nautical
Textures from Steffen J and Playingwithbrushes. Photo of the jar is from "T" altered art ( posted on Collage Images Pool) Thanks :)
Many years ago I lived in Japan for a short period of time. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to go back since then. But the desire to return to the land of the rising sun is strong and always present. About 6500 bricks. Computer rendering but only existing bricks were used.
for a dream...but dreams never come true most times! So better to wake up from stupid dreams and look for the REAL things in life!
i wrote this on a napkin, and then wondered whether it's better this way, or on the back of a business card. i can't decide (the business card draft is here)

Just tinkering with textures and longing for autumn. We don't have proper seasons here (it's bloomin' humid today - phew!) and since autumn is my favourite by far, I miss it the most.
one of my shots used for The Impossible Project's new exhibit in the NYC space "Outside the Lines"
people ask what this shot is. first it's a double exposure. the idea behind this shot was one of longing, two people on a bed and one reaching out for the other that is no longer there. i feel i may be re-visiting this shot to get it exactly as i pictured in my mind, i should have darkened the first exposure more.

This verse is so comforting to me. Sometimes it's so easy to want things that I don't have, and think that doing things or having things will make me happy. I think that we all feel this way at some time or another. Sometimes it feels like that we just need this one thing and then we'll be happy. Sometimes people live their whole lives looking to things to make them happy, and they never find what they're really looking for. I've come to realize that what our hearts longing for is people, or things, or praise. It's Jesus. He's the only one that fills that gap in our lives. We were all made with a need for Him. He's the one that loves and understands us like no one else. He's the only thing that really satisfies that longing in our hearts. It's a wonderful thought that everything that we long for can all be brought down to one thing: to know Him.
