Kenley Airfield, Spitfires would have been parked on this spot during the Battle of Britain, on this last remaining airfield to retain its original boundaries.
Upminster Windmill was built in 1803 by James Nokes, and today is a Grade II listed building. It is a smock mill.
Recently, it's had some lovely restoration work done (hence the fencing around the bottom of the mill). Find out more at the Friends of Upminster Windmill site:
I loved this bit of sculpture in the soft sand of the River Thames here - a diver with suit completely made of metal!
Things are not as they seem here in Erith. The hills opposite look natural enough but are actually grassed over rubbish.
