How to drive your auto-focus digital camera crazy-ask it to focus on something like this The other window and reflection picture didn't turn out so great-the camera keeps workin it until you click the shutter and heaven only knows what you've got in there. This one works though.

This photo, taken in the Dolomites of Italy, shows the comfort that humans take in an indoor shelter. Without the lodge in the photo, one would feel a weaker sense of security upon looking up at the impeding storm clouds. In a way this photo takes me to that cold and rainy day, where laying in my bed, and listening to the drops of water crashing into my window has never felt more comfortable.

Just like the pioneers.

An enormous log cabin made from flannel fabrics and backed with minkee.

Most of the cotton blue fabric I'd already tie dyed and I combined with some commercial batik in orange to get it to pop. Can't miss it now!

We worked hard but had a great time. This photo was made on the morning of my flight home out of Fairbanks. Thanks, Andrew and Jennifer!

I made this for British Birdfair as a memory quilt from the first 20 years of birdfair. The pictures around are prints of Robert Gillmor's paintings. On this photo you can see Tim Appleton and me.

I found the old medicine cabinet shelf in a junk pile and cleaned and painted it, then hung it over the stove. It gave me a lot more room than my old spice racks provided.
