Logan Circle has a great collection of restored Victorian rowhouses and may be the most attractive of DC's many circles.
Logan Blvd. from Kedzie to the Kennedy Expressway is a revelation. I had heard about it -- it's a part of Chicago's belt system of green, tree-lined parkways (Midway Plaisance, Garfield Blvd., Western Blvd., Douglas Blvd, Independence Blvd. are some of them) connecting major parks: Jackson, Washington, Gage, Douglas, Washington, and Humboldt.
They were always lined with grand churches and mansions and elegant apartment buildings, or, in the case of Midway Plaisance, University of Chicago campus buildings. Garfield Blvd, Western Blvd., Independence Blvd. and Douglas Blvd. have fallen on hard times, but Logan has kept its former elegance, and attracted buyers who have been priced out of Lincoln Park and Lake View.
The joggers, the Starbucks on Francisco, the yuppie woman walking the short-haired pointer who was alerting at every squirrel -- mute testimony to this area's resurgence.
I suspect the attendance at local CAPS meetings is more than just a faithful few -- on the east end of the boulevard, just west of the Kennedy Expressway, sat a Chicago police SUV.

Photograph of the oil painting 'Logan Fontenelle' by George Simons. Painting is the property of Joslyn Art Museum.
It is reported that Fontenelle didn't like the painting, and refused to pay Simmons for it.
Bio from wikipedia.org:
Logan Fontenelle (1825 – July 16, 1855), also known as Shon-ga-ska or Chief White Horse, was a mixed-blood Omaha who was elected chief of the tribe. His maternal grandfather was a chief and his father was a respected French-American fur trapper and trader. Fontenelle was largely responsible for securing the land where white settlers founded Bellevue, Nebraska. As chief, he was among seven who ceded 4,000,000 acres (16,000 km2) of Omaha land to the United States in 1854. For thirteen years, he also served as an interpreter for the United States government Indian agent. Some regarded Logan Fontenelle as the "last great chief" of the Omaha.
Logan just turned two, and here you can see a hint of the galactic tantrum ready to be unleashed in his innocent face.
Strobist: one LP160 in a Softlighter II camera left and pretty close to him, maybe two feet. I used my 50mm f1.4 prime lens so his eyes are super sharp.
Heading home -- another great trip; staying at the Hilton at Logan Airport, Boston, Massachusetts.
