It seems there is always a layer of fog in Cache Valley in the winter. This day, the foggy background really helped make the Logan LDS temple standout.
Hard to believe but this was taken on the last day of September in Scotland! At Logan botanical gardens, Port Logan, Dumfries and Galloway. Used as a location in the cult horror film ‘The Wicker Man.’
Logan Circle has a great collection of restored Victorian rowhouses and may be the most attractive of DC's many circles.

I got this new fedora today and was inspired to recreate a Hurrell-style Humphy Bogart shot with my awesome toddler. He already had the shirt and the coat...I made the necktie out of a strip cut from an old t-shirt.
Strobist: three SB speedlights. Key was in a small silver umbrella camera right about 3 feet away and closed about half way to control the light a bit. Two others were used for rim lighting; they were set back of him a bit and popped a low power. The background light area on the bottom right was added in post...the scene needed some depth.

This is my young friend Logan running two dogs on day one of the Junior North American Sled Dog Championships. It's a three day race and on Friday the kids get out of school to run dogs - which is how the world should be.
Logan's Mom and Dad are committed to sled dog rescue and actively involved in The Second Chance League, our local husky rescue organization.
I'll be a bit busy for the next few days.
Logan Blvd. from Kedzie to the Kennedy Expressway is a revelation. I had heard about it -- it's a part of Chicago's belt system of green, tree-lined parkways (Midway Plaisance, Garfield Blvd., Western Blvd., Douglas Blvd, Independence Blvd. are some of them) connecting major parks: Jackson, Washington, Gage, Douglas, Washington, and Humboldt.
They were always lined with grand churches and mansions and elegant apartment buildings, or, in the case of Midway Plaisance, University of Chicago campus buildings. Garfield Blvd, Western Blvd., Independence Blvd. and Douglas Blvd. have fallen on hard times, but Logan has kept its former elegance, and attracted buyers who have been priced out of Lincoln Park and Lake View.
The joggers, the Starbucks on Francisco, the yuppie woman walking the short-haired pointer who was alerting at every squirrel -- mute testimony to this area's resurgence.
I suspect the attendance at local CAPS meetings is more than just a faithful few -- on the east end of the boulevard, just west of the Kennedy Expressway, sat a Chicago police SUV.
