Got myself a 3 stop nd filter, and decided to have a play with it. Also wanted to give HDR another go, am using Nik software HDR pro, and you get so much control. Still got a lot to learn, but would like to do a bit more HDR.
Enlarged Erie Canal Lock 58 located in Newark, NY. Alas, the scrap metal company, just continues to mess up this site. You would have thought that they would have made an effort to keep their junk off to the side, not right smack in front of the lock. They surely were aware of the clean-up project. It's not enough that they turned the south chamber into a covered storage building. I guess we should be happy they didn't get a bulldozer and demolish it. Located off Route 31 on Lyons Street in Newark, NY.
A lock and chain, simple conversion to black and white.
The detail of the wear and tear on the lock is what caught my attention at the time of shooting.
Locked, got a few through the window shots, don't believe I missed much by not gaining access here, though I am sure that the English Churches of the East Bible, Simons Suffolk Churches may make me eat my words (as it always does)
The lock of the mailbox in the Bank of Sierra Building in downtown Visalia, CA. It is still being used. This building is great. There is a lot of marble and old features and architecture that you just don't get in structures built today.
This shot was taken at the west end of Enlarged Erie Canal Lock 58 and gives a close up view of the central overflow inlets. Lock 58, which was built in 1841, was a single-length, double chamber lock. It was the middle lock of the three locks which were located in Newark at that time. It is located off Route 31 on Lyons Street in Newark, NY.
