Built in 1925, this was one of around 50 dams that ran along the Ohio. They were designed and ran by the government.
Wow! Things sure have changed since we had Mason two years ago. They are now locking down the formula at Walgreens.

After testing the Tamron with still subjects I decided to test it out with moving subjects. After some pretty poor results originally I went out testing a few ideas to increase the keeper rate.
As Canon AF systems are sensitive to F5.6 across most of the frame I wanted to try out 400mm at F5.6 and you can lock this into the lens. The only issue here is that there is some play in the lock at 400mm so it easily zooms to 428mm, 28mm is the sum of the play in the lock switch at 400mm and makes the lens jump to F6.3 where the AF system doesn't play as well.
Then at 600mm I wanted to test subject coming towards and subjects panning horizontally.
