Lock-Arm Awnings, also known as Automatic Awnings (not to be confused with what can be achieved through awning motorisation), are a practical solution that provide excellent protection against UV and still allow for ventilation, as they slightly project off their operating rail. With their spring-loaded mechanism, they also maintain a taut surface which not only looks neat but also provides some resistance to light winds.
