loading docks have always caught my eye. i've considered them for source material for art projects for years, but have never found the right approach/medium. i have a handful of photos taken over the years. this is one of my favorites.

I went out early this morning because I couldn't sleep. It was extremely cold around 12° F with a slight wind that made setting up my tripod and timer release very uncomfortable. It did help keep the noise in the sensor down though, so it can't be all bad.
I found this location in the historic downtown in Lawrence, MA.
This image combines six exposures from 4 minutes to 8 seconds @ f/11 ISO 100. No additional lighting was used.
West Point Station (30,090 square feet)
416 14th Street, West Point, VA
The building that currently houses the West Point Station shopping center started out as a Safeway supermarket, operating from July 10th, 1977-February 11th, 1989, and then became a Be-Lo Foods, operating from spring 1989-winter 1998. This area behind the center's Pizza Hut is where the supermarket's loading dock was located, and I'm not entirely sure what its' purpose is now.
In these pictures, you will find Big Iron's new loading dock built from precast concrete blocks. Asphalt nilling material to be spread to stabilize Big Iron's containerization yard.
Heavy equipment from excavators to dozers to backhoes parked at Big Iron's yard are visible in the pictures.

Today is a boring day. It's raining out, no ones around so there really wasn't anything to do other than get in the car and go for a drive to see if there was anything around I could make a picture out of. To my surprise there was!, this, an old abandon loading dock at some packing plant in Ingersoll, On. As soon as I saw it I knew there was something there and after looking at it for a bit the vision came to me and here it is!
Execution: Ambient light, overcast sky, D700, 18-200mm lens, f/8, 1/160th, Cloudy WB, ISO 250.

Had a senior shoot today with Cole and we did a quick indoor session and then moved outside, but a storm had moved in. We headed north to my home town of Faribault and went out on a lake to get some wakebording shots of him before the rain made it that far north. We then went down town for some "urban pictures" and it started to rain but not before i got a few shots off! Let me know what you think!

What moon songs do you sing your baby?
What sunshine do you bring?
Who belongs? Who decides who's crazy?
Who rights wrongs where others cling?
I'll sing for you if you want me to
I'll give to you
And it's a chance I'll have to take
And it's a chance I'll have to break
I go along just because I'm lazy
I go along to be with you
And those moon songs that you sing your baby
Will be the songs to see you through
I'll hear your song, if you want me to
I'll sing along
And it's a chance I'll have to take
And it's a chance I'll have to break
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
So in love, I'm in love with you
With you, I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
So in love, I'm in love with you
I'm, I'm so in love
I'm in love with you

old brick building with railroad-siding loading dock
Year Built: 1905
007
This is directly underneath the clock tower in downtown Madison. The clock tower was erected as a memorial for WWI soldiers. I guess at some point the building was turned into a warehouse.
On the North side of the building are these docks - they might create an irregular surface to follow for some vehicles.
