What Were We Thinking?

When we bought our house, the backyard was basically weeds and dirt. When we got our tax return we decided that we would put a real lawn in.

Here are the before pictures.

I wish I could rock my shoes like Cinderella. Once upon a time a girl names maize (mayzee) could rock her heels 24/7. These days only a few of her designer shoes can she manage for her work day. When she goes out to the balls in the evenings her feet turn into pumpkins at midnight. MAYBE HER PRINCE WILL RUB HER BEAUTIFUL FEET!

Never been sorry I bought this little jewel; it has saved my butt more than once. Here, I am spreading gravel over the surface of the pad where the pole-barn and greenhouse will be placed. This was my first learning experience in any kind of heavy equipment and the hours spent doing this have served me well over the ensuing years.

Loads of talent from the beautiful ladies that auditioned for the Honey Jam Barbados Auditions 2014.

This underpass takes the road on Michigan Central Station's west side down and under the mainline tracks that stretch from west to east along the south side of the station. This is looking south.

On the left in this picture is the long row of loading docks that served the station when it was a bustling hub of commerce and travel.

This was the background on my computer for a while, years ago.

I used a lot of different patterned papers to be the background since one of my reasons for scrapbooking is playing with pretty paper.

Sometimes loads just don't ride well even when strapped. Slippery metal, not well wrapped and a bouncy truck is not a good combination.

Recent pictures + minimal supplies (martha stewart letters, DCWV Paper) + simple layout = DONE!

I felt like this one didn't need much journaling - the pictures told the story - we went to the zoo - we rode a camel - my daughter's little friend hung out with us - we had fun :)

*LIBRARY OF MEMORIES SYSTEM: This will live either in Places we go with the other layouts about the Zoo OR in the All About Us - Katie section.

Bit late uploading this, but I did this page yesterday at my crop, with gift 'animal' papers (DCWV)! It's all about my flat coated retriever who doesn't retrieve - except bottles from the sea LOL!

Taken near the 上海王家码头路 (Wang Jia Ma Tou Road, Shanghai) during a Shanghai flickr meetup.

I found some fun free elements/items off of the Two Peas in a Bucket website. The design is mine (didn't use a template) but the "paper" and "embelishments" are from Brandy Buffington's Holiday Party collection. The Happy New Year overlay is from Rhonna Farrer's New Year Kit. I am really having way to much fun with this digi stuff. These photos are some I took New Years Eve - Owen was in a goofy mood that night. I am really pleased with how this layout turned out. I hope you like it too.

Cranes loading.

We spent weeks at anchor off Thailand, loading Tapioca from a series of barges. The Tapioca came onboard in sacks, and a huge workforce was needed to empty the bags into the massive holds. All the local workers lived on deck in temporary tents.

This is page 1 of the challenging stories layout for Ali Edwards' Yesterday & Today class.

Blue seems to be my "go to color". I have more pages of blue than any other. This is my three daughters. We have a large framed photo presented to us as a Christmas gift never knowing that before six months was up, our middle daughter(in middle on photo) would die from leukemia. It is such a cherished possession now. This is a wallet size blown up.

Graffiti artists commissioned by the Royal Albert Hall, in partnership with the young urban collective and creative pioneers Daydream Network, transformed the walls of the Hall's Loading Bay, usually used for getting in over 350 shows a year, into a gallery of street art and graffiti artwork.

A single three-inch steel brick weighs about 42 pounds. (There are thinner bricks available for fine-tuning!) This chart tells you how high to stack the bricks to achieve a particular weight. If the brick stack goes too high, there is a third rail above the second rail to allow the loaders to remove the bricks without too much trouble. The list on the right gives the approximate number of bricks to use for a given, known set piece, be it a border, a leg, a full black, or what have you... Counterbalancing is an art!

Just brightening up LOAD a little with a little bit of Hugh. :)

I loved Lain's 25 things idea. This started as a 10x8 that I scaled down to 85% and put on an inked canvas for a bday gift for hubby. I decided I wanted to make it into a LO too. This is all Digi. Supplies Used: Katie Pertiet Sanded Overlay, Linda Roos In The Making Sweet & Fresh Line paper Kit (recolored), Jason Gaylor's Valentastic Valentine's brush set, Century Gothic and MA Sexy fonts

tink showin' off his new wheel.

After a long holiday back home, it's time to load them up and head back to the cities.
