During the 4 minutes after the Oaks Amusement Park Fireworks Show (see first comment below) finished; in the foreground: light reflections on the river distorted by the wakes from passing boats; above water: Sellwood Bridge, private fireworks, drones, and planes. I thought this little pond would provide a nice foreground for another star trail picture. The moon was unexpectedly rising during the long exposure shots, illuminating the peaks!

Private fireworks near and far provided some entertainment while David Wang and I waited for the Oaks Amusement Park fireworks show to begin. From Powers Marine Park on the Willamette River, just south of the Sellwood Bridge, Portland, Oregon OM4727

Thank goodness for a clear night last night. Our flowering cherry has been gorgeous this year, but it's starting to lose its blossom. I wanted to try star trails Before the blossom disappeared but we've had cloudy nights for the last week.

When David Wang and I arrived about an hour before sunset the parking area overflowed up the road, the lake was dotted with kayakers, and shoreline covered in people. But as the sun slipped away from the lake people left and by sunset the parking lot and shoreline had emptied out considerably. And by the time this photo was taken we were pretty much the only ones along the dam shoreline; but the occasional vehicle crossing the dam (out of frame at left) or stopping at the boat launch area (out of frame to the right) cast this nice light onto the trees along the lake edge while four satellites passed over, and a plane skimmed along the horizon across the lake. This photo consists of 38 25sec exposures (spanning 950sec=15min50sec) composited in camera using Olympus Live Composite exposure mode. Mt Hood, Trillium Lake, Mt Hood National Forest, Oregon OM741

En febrero se produce un despertar en los campos anunciando cambios. Los humildes almendros, esqueléticos durante el invierno, ahora lucen exuberantes, para envidia de los demás árboles.

I spent an hour testing my OM-D E-M5 MKII last night, I wanted to see how it handled the dark sky and bright lights of the traffic, the shot was about 45 mins, I shot for about 90 mins but my lens misted up so I lost the last 45 mins of images. The Micro Four Thirds system did better than I expected. I also tried a Milky Way shot but it was to light.
