The way this building is laid out it doesn't seem from the street like there's any space for rooms behind the facade.

Made it through one period of Game 1 before I was so bored I couldn't sit still (team sports on TV... ugh. I managed to only see two periods of the whole series... and by see, I mean there was a TV on in my vicinity). So, I left my friends for a while and went to the library. And on the way...

A drunk guy passed me while I was photoing this and was very confused as to what I was taking a picture of (this happens often). He then proceeded to hit on me for the rest of the block, offering me scotch straight from a bottle in a paper bag, telling me how a university somewhere in Atlanta (or wherever he was from) was named after his father, and pointing out things along the way that he thought were far more picture worthy than this scene (they were not). I changed my route at the next intersection, bid him adieu, and booked it to the book building.

"Lit" is a brilliant title for Mary Karr's memoir about her battle with alcoholism, her struggle to hang on to her writing and teaching career, and her eventual stumble from agnosticism to Roman Catholicism...

Christmas tradition

Philadelphia's landmark department store opened by Samuel and Jacob Lit at Eighth and Market Streets in 1893, was the home of the Enchanted Colonial Village. The Village was designed by Philadelphian display designer Thomas Comerford, and built by German toy manufacturer Christian Hofmann (located in Bad Rodach, W. Germany). The Village was a 3/4 life size display depicting eighteen animated scenes of workshops, buildings and clusters of people in a small hamlet at Christmastime including such favorites as the Toymaker, the Bakery and the Blacksmith. When they were built, the Village`s motorized dolls were state of the art. The Village was first displayed on the second floor of Lit Brothers in 1962 and remained a seasonal fixture, viewed by approximately 4,000,000 visitors while at Lit`s until 1975. Lit Brothers filed for bankruptcy in 1977 and soon after closed its stores.

This small café area is well lit with both artificial and natural lighting. Small tables and chairs provide meeting spaces for relaxed conversation and informal group collaboration. This area encourages social meetings between staff, students and community users alike. The seating style encourages short stays rather than all day visits and users can move to more comfortable areas for longer working periods.

These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.

We took the bus to Chichester and had a walk around... dodging the showers. It was rather cold. This is our last day in England. Next stop Paris.

Chichester Cathedral has fine architecture in both the Norman and the Gothic styles, and has been described by the architectural critic Ian Nairn as "the most typical English Cathedral". Despite this, Chichester has two architectural features that are unique among England's medieval cathedrals—a free-standing medieval bell tower (or campanile) and double aisles.[4] The cathedral contains two rare medieval sculptures, and many modern art works including tapestries, stained glass and sculpture, many of these commissioned by Walter Hussey (Dean, 1955–77).

The spire of Chichester Cathedral, rising above its green copper roof, can be seen for many miles across the flat meadows of West Sussex and is a landmark for sailors, Chichester being the only medieval English cathedral which is visible from the sea.

...to my little friend." Is this charming fellow's name perhaps Jack? Also known as The Ripper? Whoever he is, he's featured in one of the dimly lit portraits hanging in the loading room of the Haunted Mansion. (Pardon the grain - it's a bit dark in there.)

with impeccable timing as always i am now posting my most christmassy photo - on the day when most people take down their decorations. i only took it a couple of days ago so there was no chance of posting it at the end of last year, and i figured better late than waiting 11 and a half months. the christmas tree was in covent garden in london, and standing at 20 metres (65 feet) it's the tallest i've ever seen in my life. here's a short little timelapse of when they put up all of the christmas decorations to get you in the festive spirit... dammit i really should have got there earlier. merry everyone!
