an older picture, but I re-edited it! I think I like this version A LOT better! :) I hope you enjoy it!!!
This image shows that a JEEP can be a great sport utility vehicle for weather and the mountains, but also ANYTHING you might encounter.

Mountain Lake by Pi Istvan Toth: www.flickr.com/photos/cybermacs/1108088132/in/faves-76574...
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L Overland 2003 by Chamelfo Ropatras: www.flickr.com/photos/juanelo242a/4899891738/in/faves-765...
LEGO Sea Monster by Drew Bennett: www.flickr.com/photos/abennett96/2301554676/in/faves-7657...
TRANSFORMATION:
To create this edited image, I took the three individual images, edited them to satisfaction, layered them together, and then added detail.
First, I edited the background image of the mountain lake by lowering the brightness and upping the contrast in order to bring out darker details in the image. Next I edited the hue and saturation of the image to bring out the blues in the sky and the water.
Second, I edited the image of the Grand Cherokee. After I lassoed away all of the background away from the image, I used the brightness and contrast features to take away some of the excessive glare from the sun in order to help it match the background image. Next I copied the image over and put it on top of the background. The Windows still had too much glare, so I used the lasso tool to select each window individually and then used the hue/saturation feature to darken the windows. This gives the appearance of window tint and balances the car.
Thirdly, I created the dragon by cropping him away from his background and adjusting his colors. i used the color balance tool to bring out his yellows and reds to make him more of an intimidating creature. After copying him to the background image, I created ripples in the water through the ripple filter in order give the effect of him coming out of the water.
The fire that I added to the image was created by layering three liquified rectangles. The back was red, the middle was white, and the top was orange. To create the blended effect of fire I blended them together with the middle white layer using the Gaussian Blur tool. Next I copied the fire over and rotated it, so that it would appear to be that the dragon was breathing fire.
I never used to enjoy taking still-life shots but I have begun to enjoy doing so. Well for a start, the subject never moves!! I'm still trying to get the hang of abstract Thursdays but a little PSE liquify kind of helps!!

Caramel Corn: *liquified*
Caramel foam with a buttered popcorn shake of sorts. A shot. Amazing. They need to serve this at theatres.

DSLR, white sheet, and box light.
Used liquify tool on photoshop and colored dots to add the melting effect.
11x17
For my sustained investigation, I wanted to represent the ideal woman ideal through dolls. The melting of hands and body is to represent conformity. Conforming to standards and what that is to each person. I want to do more with the feminine identity. I used old Barbies that I've had since I was little and I took their heads off. I have a bootleg studio in my basement with a white sheet hanging up and 2 box lights. I also used my phone flashlight for some of the other photos I took but I preferred the soft lighting.
This is another from our recent underwater shoot with Lauren. If you are interested in a similar shoot we are currently running a special promo in central Scotland - get in touch to find out more.

This is how James May from BBC's Top Gear appears to me.
I created this from a single black and white photograph of the presenter which I distorted and coloured, but I now know that a colour photograph already existed!

PS. Ignore the Meta Data, that's from the source.
This was taken on a recent trip to Zargon V, man what a scorching day that was!
Haha, not really. I'm joking of course (it always rains on Zargon V as you all know).
After my last bit of Photoshop silliness, I found myself sitting in front of the computer wanting to do something but not knowing what. This is the result, I'm afraid.
This time around I decided to make my own alien landscape, drawn simply in Photoshop and with added textures from CG Textures (www.cgtextures.com). The planet was created in Photoshop with the help of a tutorial at Solar Voyager (www.solarvoyager.com). The dragon was found somewhere via Google picture search (www.virtual-lands-3d.com/flying-dragon.html) and I added flames that were also from a tutorial at Solar Voyager. The crow is by Shoofly at deviant art. I can't remember where the skull came from, I'm afraid. But it's just a boring old skull - except for the eyeball of course, which I created in Photoshop.
