Originaly a relaxing photo in a coffeeshop.I tried a liquify effect from photoshop on it and thats the result.
I am dedicating this work to "Elysium" Richard, i spoke to him on the 24th of Jan and he was killed in an avalanche on the 29th!! It was lovely knowing you.....
... that literally blasted me out of all reality. As a small gift to my beloved and blessed friends in Agra, I sent a humorous "award" when I learned that the sone was a baseball fan.
When I got up this morning it was the very first Email I opened. My very good friends had sent me an award too. When I looked at that smile, I was struck numb and as if a voice were talking to me, although I could hear no voice. Thoughts began to race through my mind.
The thoughts went something like this and they were speaking to me. They said to be aware that I had put that smile on that face. That everything my life has ever been and everything I had ever done led me up to the moment I decided to personalize that award for a boy and create that really magic work of art, that smile.
The voice continued to say if anyone can bring a smile like that to a young person's face, they have justified their time on earth and their reason for being here. This was my Karma, perhaps.
The voice seemed to know that I am not a literalist for any specific religious theology and so continued saying this could be a concept, perhaps commandment. We live to put smiles on faces.
But then the voice continued and suggested that perhaps this one smile was put upon the face of the person who would grow up, develop a system that would bring peace, love and tranquility to the entire world and I wondered if I were looking at the face of a future world leader.
I was so blown away by this experience, I took the rest of the day off and simply reflected on the things the voice and suggested to me.
Now as we approach the end of this day, I look back at that smile and I feel I am a great success and I feel love and gratitude to my beloved and blessed nephews in Agra.
Tonight, I will see if I have the power to bestow blessings and I will meditate and pray that blessing to them and to all my Flickr friends. Let us love one another and put smiles on each others faces.

DSLR, white sheet, and box light.
Used liquify tool on photoshop and colored dots to add the melting effect.
11x17
For my sustained investigation, I wanted to represent the ideal woman ideal through dolls. The melting of hands and body is to represent conformity. Conforming to standards and what that is to each person. I want to do more with the feminine identity. I used old Barbies that I've had since I was little and I took their heads off. I have a bootleg studio in my basement with a white sheet hanging up and 2 box lights. I also used my phone flashlight for some of the other photos I took but I preferred the soft lighting.

Caramel Corn: *liquified*
Caramel foam with a buttered popcorn shake of sorts. A shot. Amazing. They need to serve this at theatres.

This is how James May from BBC's Top Gear appears to me.
I created this from a single black and white photograph of the presenter which I distorted and coloured, but I now know that a colour photograph already existed!

PS. Ignore the Meta Data, that's from the source.
This was taken on a recent trip to Zargon V, man what a scorching day that was!
Haha, not really. I'm joking of course (it always rains on Zargon V as you all know).
After my last bit of Photoshop silliness, I found myself sitting in front of the computer wanting to do something but not knowing what. This is the result, I'm afraid.
This time around I decided to make my own alien landscape, drawn simply in Photoshop and with added textures from CG Textures (www.cgtextures.com). The planet was created in Photoshop with the help of a tutorial at Solar Voyager (www.solarvoyager.com). The dragon was found somewhere via Google picture search (www.virtual-lands-3d.com/flying-dragon.html) and I added flames that were also from a tutorial at Solar Voyager. The crow is by Shoofly at deviant art. I can't remember where the skull came from, I'm afraid. But it's just a boring old skull - except for the eyeball of course, which I created in Photoshop.

This is what I would look like if I were to get botox, lip injection, rhinoplasty, green contacts, and my hair dyed brown and red.
This photo was taken by some wonderful lady in Union Square - downtown San Francisco - underneath the recently lit Christmas Tree. It's going to be our Christmas photo to family & friends, but I didn't want to show the real thing yet.. so I made a few scary changes for the time being...
#4 in my 100 abstract challenge! Only 96 more to go! Wahoo!
Distorted pattern was shot as found, I swear. No liquify tool was used to create the effect. (Somehow that seemed important to clarify)
Just because, I don's say anything,
Doesn't mean..
I don't like you
And besides you're probably holding hands
With some skinny, pretty, girl that likes to
Talk about bands, and,
All i wanna do is ride bikes with you,
and stay up late,
And watch cartoons.
secret 3/30 I really really cannot be arsed right now. with anything. And plus i hate the fact i can't tell secrets. I really suck/ i tell more facts...
Im not trusting.
i really like this picture. i got my photoshop back :)
First time i've liked one of mines in a while

Not sure about this one, I might redo this at some point but in the meantime here it is and I shall keep looking through my other images for other people to do.
Having a play with photoshop and as I promised here is my take on me as a charicature. This is a play on that programme on tv at the moment here in the UK, I'm going to try and ask people and family I know for a portrait and then play around with them to create an undateables set.
The ? marks are in black and white which represent just that! It's there in black and white in front of your eyes, but should we take everything we see at face value when we could spend a little time to delve further and see a little more/see what's on the inside?

I wasn't happy with my HDR attempt at this so I just played around with the perfect exposure image and purposely overcooked it. I then used the liquify filter to warp the surrounding.
Here is a painting of this image:
For a lesson in advanced Photoshop techniques this week I taught my students how to make an Avitar Na'vi person. I followed a couple of tutorials and arrived at this for an example. I'm pretty proud of it. I don't usually last the whole way through tutorials before I branch off and try my own thing. Let me know if you have any questions about specifics.

By using Content Aware Scale in CS4, you can easily squish faces together with a click of a button. Keep in mind this is NOT the Liquify tool.
