Montana Rail Link's "Night Gas" heads west along the 10th Subdivision and Flathead River near Perma, MT. Don't ask how we got sun here, I'm baffled myself, as it was the only shot of the Gas Local we got with sun.
Working on some compositions for Monday's Macro theme, Connection. I will be away tomorrow for the annual Labor Day family beach day. Happy Labor Day to you all!

It's been a really long time since I've said this…"happy fence friday" (wow, did that feel good.)
Ah ha, it's Macro Mondays time again and this week's challenge is to take a macro 'from the top', which I have interpreted to be as 'from above'.
And omg I thought, how was I going to get some pretty coloured bokeh in the macro if I had no depth of field to play with?
Make some depth of course!
So off I went to the glazier and came home with a nice bit of glass, which is held above my other bit of glass by a couple of books. the glitter is on the bottom one, and the bracelet on the top. And a combo of natural window light for the bracelet, and LED to sparkle the glitter.
The bracelet is one I have had for absolutely ages. I don't wear it much but I love it.
oh, and the bottom 'glass' is actually the black screen on my tablet lol.
(I'll get out of this sparkly bokeh thing soon I promise)

The River Witham in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
The River Witham is a river almost entirely in the county of Lincolnshire in the east of England. It rises south of Grantham close to South Witham, passes Lincoln and at Boston, flows into The Haven, a tidal arm of The Wash, near RSPB Frampton Marsh. The name "Witham" seems to be extremely old and of unknown origin. Archaeological and documentary evidence shows the importance of the Witham as a navigation from the Iron Age onwards.
From Roman times it was navigable to Lincoln, from where the Fossdyke was constructed to link it to the River Trent. The mouth of the river moved in 1014 following severe flooding, and Boston became important as a port. From 1142 onwards, sluices were constructed to prevent flooding by the sea, and this culminated in the Great Sluice, which was constructed in 1766.
It maintained river levels above Boston and helped to scour the channel below it. The land through which the lower river runs has been the subject of much land drainage, and many drains are connected to the Witham by flood doors, which block them off if river levels rise rapidly.
The river is navigable from Brayford Pool in Lincoln to Boston, with Locks only in Lincoln, at Bardney and at the Grand Sluice. Passage through the Grand Sluice lock is restricted to short periods when the tidal levels are suitable.
The river provides access for boaters to the Witham Navigable Drains, to the north of Boston, and to the South Forty-Foot Drain to the south, which was reopened as part of the Fens Waterways Link, a project to link the river to the River Nene near Peterborough. From Brayford Pool, the Fossdyke Navigation still links to the Trent.

The landing pad and the reactor platform have been joined! Not as exciting as some suggestions to link them with tube transit system I'm afraid but I think it looks good
I hiked several miles up onto the new section of the Foothills Parkway last January before it opened up to make these pictures. I believe it is one of the prettiest views of the Smoky Mountains particularly since you can drive there now that it is open.
This section of the parkway is known as the "Missing Link"
Please click "L: to see it on black where it can be fully appreciated. Thanks:)

The Missing Link - Lizard Peninsula, Polpeor Cove, Cornwall
Whilst photographing The old Lizard Lifeboat Station I had some time to kill waiting for the fisherman to head out on their row boats. So, it was time to capture some intimate images and this is one of some of the large industrial rusty links that are used to haul the boats back up the slipway. I opted for a mono square crop and feel it suits this image well
As always, all my images are available to purchase through my website so why not pop along there and take a look.

Link: WALTZING WITH BEARS
Performed by Seamus Kennedy
Our Uncle Walter's not right in the head
Been that way all his life, so my mother has said
Its not that he's violent or falls down the stairs
Its just he goes waltzing, waltzing with bears
CHORUS:
He goes wa wa wa waltzing, waltzing with bears
Raggy bears, shaggy bears, baggy bears too
There's nothing on earth Uncle Walter won't do
So he can go waltzing, wa wa wa waltzing
He can go waltzing, waltzing with bears
I went to his room in the middle of the night
I tiptoed in and I turned on the light
But to my surprise, he was nowhere in sight
For my Uncle Walter goes waltzing at night
CHORUS
We gave Uncle Walter a new coat to wear
When he came home it was covered with hair
Lately I've noticed several new tears
I think Uncle Walter's been waltzing with bears
CHORUS
We told Uncle Walter that he should be good
Do all the things that we think that he should
But I know that he'd rather be out in the wood
I'm afraid we might loose Uncle Walter for good
CHORUS
Well we begged and we pleaded, "Oh please won't you stay"
We Managed to keep him at home for a day
But the bears all barged in and they took him away
Now he's dancing with pandas who don't understand us
And the bears all demand at least one waltz a day
CHORUS

THERE'S NO GLORY IN STOLEN WORKS AND YOU KNEW IT !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are people lurking around flickr stealing photos and posting them as if they're their own works on other sites, thinking they will not be caught up .
I did found one of my photos in an Internet property / travel sites before. There's no even linking my photo back to my flickr. It doesn't need great looking photos stolen, depending on what suits the thieves liking as those photos stolen where not looking stunning either. Just be aware of this friends .
What I'm angry at , they just don't acknowledge the owner or at least linked them where they got it from.
Although it happened few years ago, I know it's still continually happening . It might be with your photos this time.
Instagram and other sites has thieves , so as flickr and posting them where they think you can't track them down.

This bus service now forms the only public transport link for towns along the West Somerset Railway that were cut off from the main UK rail network in 1971 as a result of financial recommendations set by the devious Ernest Marples.
