I like using red and black together.

A place where you feel yourself like inside the photos of Brassai (smartphone changing Brassai to Brassens - yes and a little like in Brassens songs) and Paul Almasy, Through the window you can see the man in hat on Korolenko street standing in the clouds of smoke, at the bar the girl also wearing hat is driking wine with her girlfriend, the girl dressed in feathers the colour of raven is making a perfect match with the sculpture of an eagle, standing upon the bar.

Drawing from my sketchbook. Fineliner, coloured pencils and some digital colouring

As some of you may know, I started a little side project called “Daily Sketch” where I try and make a sketch or drawing everyday and upload it to my Tumblr using my iPhone and the instagram app. It’s very low-key and has me holding pen and pencil on paper, a welcome change from the digital screen and tools.

I make all my sketches in my Moleskin book, but will venture out to bigger formats as well.

Have a look at my tumblr stream here (there’s a lot of stuff there, but you’ll find my daily sketches there as well)

Last week I ended up with this little fellow and decided to pull him into Photoshop for some coloring and grading. Really loved how this came along

Also:

I've entered the "Artist Wanted - The Power Of Self" competition again this year, and included some of my selfportraits for the competition. All I need from you is to cast your vote and tell your friends too! I could win a whole year expenses paid and I'd be enormously gratefull.

My great-grandfather's ink drawing of a locomotive. He would have drawn this in high school when he was about 15 years old. D.O.B. (geb.) 1857. Sheetsize is 50cm x 33cm.

Though, I am not sure whether 1857 is the date of birth. I have a dated photo of my great-grandfather who was born in 1830 and died in December 1914. Therefore, he would have been 27 when he drew this locomotive. This is a bit of a puzzle to me... Unless "Geb 1857" = "Get. 1857" (getan/done, in German).

Drawing straight lines appears to be in our (the 'Temperli') blood. In high school, I was the first girl who was permitted to join the boys in the elective of technical drawing. Though, my wonderful mum had to put in a really good word for me and, eventually, the teacher relented and I was able to join the class. Later on, I also managed to get into another boys' elective, woodwork, also as the first girl and a few more girls joined later on as well.

Great-grandfather, grand-father, as well as my father, became farmers. I became an architectural detail draftswoman - keeping the tradition of drawing straight lines in the family :)
