El viernes 06 de julio, se llevó a efecto una visita al sitio Punta Blanca ubicado a un costado de la vía La Iguana, perteneciente a la parroquia Chibunga, recorrido que estuvo encabezado por el concejal Wellington Mendoza, delegado por la Alcaldía de Chone, con el objetivo de definir los límites entre los cantones Pedernales y Chone.
En el marco de este diálogo, actores de la municipalidad chonense y la comunidad, el equipo técnico verificó cada una de las coordenadas que ratifica a la comunidad de Punta Blanca como territorio Chonense.
En el recorrido se trataron varios temas, aunque el más importante es la definición limítrofe que comuneros de este sitio ha estado esperando por años.
En el lugar cuentan con una unidad educativa, por lo que después de conocer su pertenencia, los moradores acudirán a la Dirección Distrital de Educación para gestionar lo que por ley les corresponde en relación a esta área.
