What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Vienna?

For me: Schnitzel! 😜

But immediately afterwards of course I recall Vienna's fame for Opera and Music. The Vienna State Opera was opened in 1869 (premiere with an opera of Mozart of course). You find it in the vibrant first district of Vienna.

Smooth bend nearby to Borriol village. This is the CV 10 Highway.

A14 in Cambridge at sunrise.

Looking south west to Snowdonia and up to Thomas Telfords 1826 Menai Bridge

It took some digging to discover the name of this statue which is "Habakuk" by Ewerdt Hilgemann and is a tribute to Max Ernst. Googling "crumpled statue near lake shore drive" didn't return many results, however, I did discover the search by map feature on the Chicago Park District Website, where I was able to figure it out.

The photo consists of a total of five individual photos to set the focus for the light trails and the train at the same time. The clouds in the sky have made the blue hour very interesting.

Irmo-Chapin Recreation Commission’s Holiday Lights on the River at Saluda Shoals Park is amazing. Many of the exhibits are animated, making for some interesting photo effects. It’s a drive through adventure with wonderful light displays, kids activities, Santa visits, s’mores and marshmallows to cook over a campfire, and a super slide that one rides down in a tube. Truly a spectacular experience for folks of all ages.

Morning in Iowa ... I-90. At least for this capture everyone was heading like we were ... to the west. Guessing they were not all going to the Badlands ;)

Morning capture ... with the great clouds and storm passing by I just had to pull over and play around on the rural road crossing the highway.

Another goto spot for me. I finally got a decent sky from here

With camera club cancelled, Libby & I were both available and at a loose end so we decided to make good use of the time and chase light trails on Tower Bridge, something we've been talking about doing forever.

We weren't alone in our endeavours, there was a couple on the opposite side of the bridge snapping away.

Given recent light trail successes (Oxford Street, Vauxhall Bridge - okay maybe that one wasn't a 'success' but I was pretty drunk and I still managed something) I had high hopes. I was ultimately frustrated. I was frustrated by my camera remote running out of batteries and having to use the timer function; by my tripod just *not doing as it was told*; by the railings; by the uniformly low level traffic; by the general lack of double decker buses; by the fact the traffic seemed very slow moving, even when free-flowing; and and and...

Once we reached the point where all photos were beginning to look the same and we were really quite cold, we went in search of food. Quite by coincidence in the restaurant we ended up at (by no means the closes or most obvious choice from where we were) we were sitting opposite the same photographer couple we'd seen at the beginning (people always say London is sprawling and anonymous and whilst that must be true, these little coincidences and meetings are by no means unusual in my experience).

We then walked off our meal back long the river to Waterloo, which was a lovely way to round off the evening.

I love how long exposure photos show the progression of an object's movement through space, compressing a long period of time into a brief snapshot. That's kind of what this collection of photos has become for me. It's easy to get caught up in the distractions of daily life, but this challenge forced me to slow down and look for something interesting to share every day. Happy New Year, friends!

I got to the 4th street bridge after a break in rain. Moving clouds and wet roads created some great conditions for light trail photography at this iconic location.

I waited for a big city bus to pass on my left side creating a prominent trail on 4th street

While taking pictures of a lighthouse on the Oregon coast i watched the traffic passing by on this highway. After i captured enough of the lighthouse i turned my attention to this.

I stood on an Autobahn Bridge near Karlsruhe (A5 straight down to Basel-CH) with the Nikon D3200 which isn't mine, trying to get some long exposure captures. I just started taking photos a few weeks before and borrowed the camera from my Dad to try some stuff i just read before.

Taking this Photo was some kind of an accident as I didn t plan to get this train on it. First I thought it would be the worst Photo of the series i took there, but later when i developed the RAW in Photoshop, it turned out to be the best shot in my opinion :)

I am a rookie, so feel free to give any kind of feedback, just trying to learn more...
