Long exposure experiment

The storm begins ... with some traffic still out there.

This was couple hours ago before the snow got heavier and higher winds ... about 4 inches on the ground in about 4 hours ... and the snow is now falling at a much higher clip. We'll see what it looks like come morning.

Car light trails at night on I-66 (Custis Memorial Parkway), shot from the N. Lynnn Street overpass in Rosslyn (Arlington), Virginia. (10/7/2017)

As the world slumbers in darkness, I set out to create a nocturnal photo, weaving luminescent trails with my trusty eBay LED quality light. With each carefully choreographed movement, a captivating signature emerges, illuminating the night with an ethereal glow. The long exposure captures the dance of light and darkness, crafting a mesmerizing painting that seems to defy the limits of time. Behold the magic of light painting, an art form that embraces the darkness to reveal its own signature of brilliance.

If you cannot understand what int the world is the background or this image, to put you into the perspective, on the left bottom part of the photo, you can see a Dalmatian boat moored to a cement dock.

Peace.

30 second exposure with writing done with an LED

Has the nights are getting long and the rush hour begins. I head to a motorway (highway) bridge to create light trails.

Streetlights and fireworks, this was me falling over my garden wall mid-shot lol

So after a thrilling day walking for miles around this beautiful city, soaking up art and enjoying the weekend feel in lovely parks we came back to see the Eiffel Tower in its nightime glory.

Unlike at sunrise the riverbank and bridges were bustling and my husband offered to act as safety officer as I blocked part of the bridge with my tripod!

Sadly I'd left my remote at home, so couldn't manage more than a 30 second exposure, but after a few attempts managed to make half decent light trails from the many tourist boats going up and down the river.

Milky Way from 9,300 ft up on Hawaii’s Mauna Kea - It was wonderful to see a very clear Milky Way from “above” the clouds! I took this after sunset and while the moon was rising from below the clouds. I was at the top of the hill across the road from the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy / Mauna Kea Visitor Information Station (MKVIS). This is the high point for vehicles not ascending to the summit.

"Welcome to Japan". That's what the title means. Anyways, after work, I drove to this hill that I often climb on my bicycle for workouts and set up my new camera. This shot is nothing that my old camera couldn't take but the inspiration comes 100% from the new camera. This is basically the city that I am currently living in. About 70,000 people surrounded by countryside.
