Based on this photo, you'd probably think I had some sort of hot date. But you'd be wrong. I just had a photography assignment.

But I mean, food is my one true love, so I guess it is the same thing. Right?

Ok here are the shots from a very recent very out of the blue last minute shoot with designer and all round sweet heart Erica Stagg. Prior to the shoot I think we’d talked once I’d never seen the collection and had no idea what I was shooting and went out on a whim hoping the location was well, more than suitable and turns out it was more than adequate, so here are the shots from Erica Stagg’s 2009/2010 summer capsule range…

I know I say this all the time for a lot of the shoots I work on but Erica’s range is nothing far from amazing, the concept behind each piece is clear in plain sight and well executed, with each piece really speaking for itself, and Anna our model despite coming straight from a viewing and been dead tired pulled of every shot and let both herself and the garments equally as powerful frame after frame, and let’s just say wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty…

Big thanks to Erica for letting my concept to come through in the shots and having it been a little bit more collaborative than usual and letting me try some new techniques, regardless of how the shots looked these were shot in full daylight in the middle of the day and mid afternoon using a kind of light masking technique I’m trying much like they use in the twilight movies only a little different and my own creation…

Big thanks to all the girls for putting up with me as usual I know it’s a hard task and they did without complaint, so here are the shots enjoy…

I’ve done a few shoots for Robyn Taggart in the past, none of which have ever made it to my flickr before, however I finally got to shoot a concept shoot for her that took her clothes out of the normal and I’m very happy with the results. Robyn’s capsule range entitled Kaleidoscope is far beyond amazing the concept behind each piece is remarkably executed both theoretically and physically…

I’ve been waiting to shoot in these parts of the woods for a long while now it is ridiculously serene and graceful, and almost like you are apart of another world as soon as you enter the premises, it’s the first time I’ve used them but it wont be the last either, you will see these in a few concept shoots I will be working on in the future so please keep your eyes peeled…

The day itself went to plan as much as it could a shoot never runs perfectly to schedule and there are always some speed bumps to get yourself over along the way. Some of these bumps may or may not have included one of my travelpacks been faulty and me relying on my 580 EX II’s instead of my third and fourth Gemini Esprit heads that I’m so accustomed too thus sacrificing that extra bit of power in the lights...

It may or may not have taken ten hours to get through all the garments, may or may not have gotten a nice little camera tan, a few mosquito bites, and a little bit wet due to the weather coming and going but here are the shots…

Big thanks to all the girls for putting up with me as usual I know it’s a hard task and they did without complaint, so here are the shots enjoy…

So here are a few shots from the days shoot enjoy while I sort through everything and get it up on my THE BAKE HOUSE @ WORDPRESS and here on the blog, there are many more shoots to edit and upload so keep your eyes peeled enjoy…

One down a few more to go, time to get organised… My band just got back from a weekender tour, time to get all the old work out of the way to make room for new work so I can have a clean work space for a change, and not have to do a million different things at once…

Recently got to do a photo shoot with an old friend Joel’s band The Haunts, a little favour for the girls over at The Black Market Empire here are the final shots from the shoot…

I know maybe not as much or even close to my usual style of music and shoot but you should go check out The Haunts here, they just got out of the studio and are slowly releasing singles, you can also check out their label The Black Market Empire here, they’ll be releasing all their stuff through these guys from here on in…

Charlee on my arm. I did all the light set up and camera set up for this one, but have to confess that I had my wife push the shutter button. I tried to use a remote during my set up shots and it was too sketchy. Almost dropped the cabbage patch doll a few times. One off camera flash to my camera right, thru an umbrella.

Worked this in Lightroom a little also.

Now I know this may look like I didn't put in a lot of thought, but that is the exact opposite! I got a lighting kit for Christmas and I wanted to do an exercise in lighting. I shot for 2 hours, loaded the pictures, culled through them, edited them, and put them in the frames. All in all 4 and a half hours! So I'm exhausted LOL! But the experience is worth it!
