I Recently had the chance to do another fixie or fixed gear bike shoot, with a good friend whom I’ve been promising to shoot since well, what seems like forever, we had bad weather and things got shuffled around a little but these are the results…
Cheers to Eric and the guys at Gear Brisbane for hooking us up with yet again some amazing bikes, we didn’t get a scratch on em, I promise. But Eric is a great guy always keen to help out and work on some cool new interesting projects no matter what they involve be it a few bikes or well (I’ll say the rest once I’ve finished working on the projects). You should go into the store if you are close to the Brisbane CBD, or visiting from out of town, its an amazing store and I guarantee you wont find another store like it anywhere in the world and for so many reasons…
So pop into shop @ 3A Browning Street, West End, QLD, 4101, or check out the online store and blog
Thanks to all the girls for putting up with me and the summer heat and lack of fresh air throughout the shoot due to the location, I’m sorry the weather turned and we couldn’t be out in the open. Thanks to Lewis for the million stupid questions you asked that probably extended the shoot to another half an hour, and for dabbing the sweat off of everyone when needed, you are definitely the weirdest most interesting assistant I have ever had on a shoot buddy…
So here are a few shots from the days shoot enjoy while I sort through everything and get it up on my THE BAKE HOUSE @ WORDPRESS and here on the blog, there are many more shoots to edit and upload so keep your eyes peeled enjoy…

Ideally I would never have shot a portrait so wide but I was limited with depth and had to go wide
on the full body portrait shots within this set.

I used Topaz de-noise 4 and topaz detail within the post process. excellant filters for when
the exposure was slighlty off and noise creeped into the shot.
Many Thanks to Elie for his amazing hard graft at arranging the event and a big thanks to
all the wonderfull models/mua's for there amazing looks and styles..

I think I may have found the ultimate Strobist bag. This is a Smith Victor light stand bag (imagine that). In this picture it has a 3373, a small Velbon tripod from an old point-n-shoot digital camera and a Wescott double fold umbrella in it. There is just enough length to leave an umbrella mount on the stand plus a couple little extras (like my Stofen Omni-bounce X2). I am sure I can fit the other 3373 in there, in place of the Velbon. All this and it is $9.99 on B&H!
Oh, and I shot this with 2 SB-26s, 1/2 power, 50mm zoom, one left, one right. They were pointed up at an angle to bounce off the ceiling, and I pulled out the bounce cards for a little direct fill.

An experiment while bored in a hotel. This is with my Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-200mm VR lens, Kenko extension tube, and Nikon R1C1 lighting system. It is tough to take pictures of your own eyes!

Ok here are the shots from a very recent very out of the blue last minute shoot with designer and all round sweet heart Erica Stagg. Prior to the shoot I think we’d talked once I’d never seen the collection and had no idea what I was shooting and went out on a whim hoping the location was well, more than suitable and turns out it was more than adequate, so here are the shots from Erica Stagg’s 2009/2010 summer capsule range…
I know I say this all the time for a lot of the shoots I work on but Erica’s range is nothing far from amazing, the concept behind each piece is clear in plain sight and well executed, with each piece really speaking for itself, and Anna our model despite coming straight from a viewing and been dead tired pulled of every shot and let both herself and the garments equally as powerful frame after frame, and let’s just say wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty…
Big thanks to Erica for letting my concept to come through in the shots and having it been a little bit more collaborative than usual and letting me try some new techniques, regardless of how the shots looked these were shot in full daylight in the middle of the day and mid afternoon using a kind of light masking technique I’m trying much like they use in the twilight movies only a little different and my own creation…
Big thanks to all the girls for putting up with me as usual I know it’s a hard task and they did without complaint, so here are the shots enjoy…

Big thanks to all the girls for putting up with me as usual I know it’s a hard task and they did without complaint, so here are the shots enjoy…
