The New York Public Library (NYPL) is a public library system in New York City. With nearly 53 million items, the New York Public Library is the second largest public library in the United States (behind the Library of Congress), and fourth largest in the world. It is a private, non-governmental, independently managed, nonprofit corporation operating with both private and public financing. The library has branches in the boroughs of Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island, and affiliations with academic and professional libraries in the metropolitan area of New York State. The City of New York's other two boroughs, Brooklyn and Queens, are served by the Brooklyn Public Library and the Queens Library, respectively. The branch libraries are open to the general public and consist of circulating libraries. The New York Public Library also has four research libraries which are also open to the general public.

A light shade made from an old, retired, lace shawl which is still very beautiful but had stains on it that were unremovable except by the use of scissors. Also used a coat-hanger that had had the gong. I found I could drape all sorts of pretty, light-friendly materials over the creation, for different effects. It now lives in the bathroom where we can trip out on the patterns it creates on the walls.

I don't know if this is an original fitment or not. It's at Casa Batlló in Barcelona and features bunches of glass grapes.

Yes, the light fitting will be put away and replaced - as will the curtains. It's a nice sized space for an office and will probably be a kind of library as well as there's so little wall space in the lounge room for bookshelves.
