The Frenchman next to us thought I was most odd to take pictures of the ceiling. I thought he was most odd (and his wife had the least convincing use of hairdye this side of a charity fundraiser), which just made it even more fun when we returned a couple of days later, commented on the curiously dark haired woman passing by beneath our window seats (I'd seen them elsewhere as well) and promtly discovered them while on the way to the loo.
One of the wall-lights at Grovefield Manor Hotel where we usuually have lunch on Christmas Day. The hotel belongs to two of my ex-colleagues from teaching who have started a rather strenuous new life after 'retirement'!
I loved the way the light was on and the sun came out and the two light sources created an unusual pic.

The museum is specialised in architecture and design. It was founded in 1966 to foster the legacy of the architecture of Alvar Aalto. The museum is located in a building designed by Aalto and completed in 1973. The museum houses a permanent exhibition on the life work of Alvar Aalto.
Only took me, oooo, 21 months of bare ceiling rose and pendant to sort this out. After spending ages looking in real shops, 5 minutes on the Manufactum site sorted us out.
In "The works" cheapy bookshop in Hereford. Its really low ceilinged in a raised area at the back and the reflector part of the luminaire naturally comes into normal range of vision for someone of average height like me.
