Verheißungsvoll. Licht und Schatten.

Dropped and picked up. Promising - that was this blossom on our first night in South Africa on the way back to our hotel. View from the balcony over the bay to the lights of the small town of Gordon's Bay. I do not know what the flower is called – it had fallen from a large bush right in front of my feet and felt solid (almost waxy) and indestructible ;-)

Abgefallen und aufgehoben. Vielversprechend - das war diese Blüte an unserem ersten Abend in Südafrika auf dem Weg zurück zu unserem Hotel. Blick vom Balkon über die Bucht auf die Lichter der kleinen Stadt Gordon's Bay. Ich weiß nicht, wie die Blüte heißt – sie war von einem großen Busch direkt vor meine Füße gefallen und fühlte sich fest (fast wie Wachs) und unzerstörbar an ;-)

Pain comes and it goes
Like the colors of flowers
Shining but briefly.
In the midst of severe knee gout pain following a sleepless night I sought temporary diversion. So I picked up my camera and hobbled outside. The light was bright and low and Illuminated this recently planted gem. It reminded me how fabulous nature can be and how it always is there to help put things into perspective.
We were picking "things" up to vacuum and put the scratching post up on one of the chairs! I looked over and saw Mitzi perched on top looking out the window! Love the light and shadows and the stripes all over her!

I had another idea but the fly was not so cooperative, maybe next time :)
