The basic light and shadow on steps, when the light is right the stairway is highlighted, if incorrect then it is washed and flat or dark and dangerous.

Dropped and picked up. Promising - that was this blossom on our first night in South Africa on the way back to our hotel. View from the balcony over the bay to the lights of the small town of Gordon's Bay. I do not know what the flower is called – it had fallen from a large bush right in front of my feet and felt solid (almost waxy) and indestructible ;-)

Abgefallen und aufgehoben. Vielversprechend - das war diese Blüte an unserem ersten Abend in Südafrika auf dem Weg zurück zu unserem Hotel. Blick vom Balkon über die Bucht auf die Lichter der kleinen Stadt Gordon's Bay. Ich weiß nicht, wie die Blüte heißt – sie war von einem großen Busch direkt vor meine Füße gefallen und fühlte sich fest (fast wie Wachs) und unzerstörbar an ;-)

Trip to South Africa. /// Reise nach Südafrika. /// Gordon's Bay
This is a photo from Sicily that I took back in October. I shot this photo before sunrise at the coast. I liked the colours of the clouds in this direction. As the scene had a really high contrast, I manually combined different exposures to this final image, because the automatic HDR function of Lightroom had trouble dealing with the waves. I also blurred the water a bit by combining additional exposures.
