A light post in the hotel grounds advertises one of the gazillion beer brands in Germany. Note the delightfully wooded background! (Aug. 2007)
Taken with a Sony NEX-5, 18-200 mm. Some light post-processing to regain details from shadows and that's it! Taken during a gorgeous sunset with the tide coming into this shallow basin on one side of an island that had previously been used as a military base.

Since snow is somewhat rare in Western Oregon, I revisted locations of some of my previous shots. This was seen earlier in the photo "Green Blush".

Rule of Thirds - The light post is neatly aligned with the right third. The head of the light is centered around the top right 2/3
Veiling Flare - A nice flare is produced by the very strong light source right in front of the camera
I like this image because it reminds me of a toy soldier, as it stands alone in the middle of the night.
Last summer Cooking Light posted a recipe for Blueberry-Peach Cobbler, and I could not resist, especially considering all of the bounty at our farmer's market and local farms. On a summer morning, I got to work with all of my fresh yummy fruits.
First, you slice up your peaches and lay them out in the baking dish.
Theater Road in Abu Dhabi is lined with these light posts. I didn't get a chance to see it in the evening, but even during the day that had a kind of special charm.
In the distance, beyond the motor launch in the left side of this frame, note the row of light posts, easily picked out by their globes as a row of dots below the monorail track, these are actually well forward towards the edge of the lagoon from the monorail as they are lighting the portion of the "walk around the world" that is a dead end.
