This is in front of Disneyland's Plaza Inn on the corner of Main Street. The small white circle at the top is the Moon.
This shot was taken in a beach of Santa Marta, Colombia. It is a night shot; as I walked by, I saw lightning over the sea, behind the far clouds. I grabbed the camera and shot at 1600 ISO (notice the noise/grain), handheld, a couple of continuous shots and managed to get some lightning in the back.
The sand was lit by a light post.
I am pretty glad of the results
I was passing those light posts for number of years and finally it was time to capture it. They completely change the small street's atmosphere. (1223)

This is a night shot of a light post at the corner of my street. It was 12:30 am with a full moon. I kicked up the exposure, Shutter stayed open for approx 10 seconds. I got that nice glow of the surrounding plants i was after.
Light post emitting light but not the traditional way...
I was on my bike when I saw this stunning thing and took a quick snap and so the blur. I was almost in the middle of the street.
I’ve been too busy the last couple days to make it out with my camera so I’m grabbing one of the shots from my Europe trip I haven’t shown yet. As lame an excuse as it is, I’m in crunch mode for the SIGGRAPH conference and can’t take the time out to take photos. Hopefully it’ll all be over soon.
OK, while eating at McDonald's before 6AM, I noticed that the light post was still on and looking at the sky from the MoonRoof of my vehicle, I had to get this shot.
Used the Canon CLEAR profile.
A light post in an abandoned parking lot had toppled over, so I was able to get near to the "head", and make a close-up image of the glass globe that protects the light bulb.
The striated design in the glass, shown in the photo, is on the side of the globe labeled "House Side". I suppose this design is intended to diffuse the light so it does not shine harshly into the windows of nearby houses (had this glass been used on a street light near houses).
The red tint and vignetting was added in post.
