The Beach Lighthouse (also known as the Lower Light) is a 44-foot (13 m) tall sandstone lighthouse situated in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England. The lighthouse was designed in 1839 by Decimus Burton and Capt H.M. Denham. Burton had been commissioned three years previously by Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood as the architect of the new town of Fleetwood. Unusual for a lighthouse, it is in neoclassical style with a square colonnaded base, square tower, and octagonal lantern and gallery.

The Lower Light stands on Fleetwood sea front and was built with its counterpart—the Upper Light, or Pharos Lighthouse—to provide a navigational guide to shipping entering the Wyre estuary. Together the lights provide a leading line when the Pharos Light is directly above that of the Lower Light. In turn they point to the Wyre Light on the North Wharf Bank, 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) offshore.

Both lighthouses were first illuminated 1 December 1840. Together they provide a range of about 12 nautical miles (22 km).

The Beach Lighthouse was designated a Grade II listed building by English Heritage on 26 April 1950. The lighthouse is managed by the Port of Fleetwood.

The Palmaria Island. In front of Porto Venere, a small island almost uninhabited.

For a long time it has been the place of a large a marble quarry (the so called Portoro "marble"). After the quarry closed, for years it has been a military property and approacing was forbidden.

My grandfather went to this island when he was just thirteen, to work in the quarry, he remained there for some years. I visit this place in the end of summer 2007. Now what you meet here is an awesome landscape and the ruins of the hills eaten by the quarry.

Thanks to Xippa and Ludomannaro for the boat trip and for the nice visit.

This photography was taken in a small neighbourhood in Lisbon where I have my classes. I like the way the light illuminates the streets and the walls fulfilled with tiles.

One night, a hot air balloon got blown off course, and made a surprise landing in Penn Hills Shopping Center, in front of Giant Eagle!

When the balloon would start to lean toward one of the light posts, he would blast the fire, to get it to stand up straight again.

Since picking up a cheap Dynax 7 35mm film body, I've been experimenting with different film stock. In this case, Ilford XP2 'black and white' film that's developed using the c-41 process. Developed, printed and scanned at Snappy Snaps, Reading with some light post processing on the scans to remove a slight colour cast / straitening / cropping and a little exposure / contrast tweaking.

The city installed an environmental Bird Sculpture. The solar panel on the platform powers lighted posts for the migratory birds to perch on.

Massafra, town center, at first I tought he was selling olives, but when I get near to him I see he was selling mussels. Here I took a picture of him while he was preparing the two euros bunch of shells for me.

I finally got a new light post for my Victoria. It had been missing, along with the glass, when I got the clock a couple years ago. Found a parts clock last year that had the glass, and got a couple more parts clocks this weekend, both of which had the light posts, and which I will work on and combine the two to make one good clock.

We were waiting for the Fantasmic show to start, which was amazing by the way, and this little kid's balloon was in front of us. :]
