When I first started photographing this project on July 15, in Rosenberg, Texas, all of these sections were scattered on the ground. After a truck crane arrived, the operator lifted the sections into place one at a time and skilled riggers secured the assembly. Electricians will wire and install bulbs into the luminaire ring, a round crown at the top. It will stand about 93 feet high.
Another from my Boardwalk Candid series taken while walking on a Fall weekend down at Ocean City, MD. Liked the alignment of the light poles and benches along the edge of the Boardwalk ... and the then the people who were out like I for nice stroll or bike ride.
Happy Bench Monday
Such beauty inside the city. Always keep your eyes open to see what gifts we are given each day :)

This gull stood on the light pole for a long time, allowing me to take lots of shots with different perspective and DOF.
Now the Empire State Building in the background looks shorter than the light pole, from this perspective.
Running light engine from Port Lincoln to Thevenard, 851 has stabled for the afternoon at Minnipa waiting for the crew to have time off on 18-9-2018.
A lot of the old South Australian Railways infrastructure still exists in the yard including the old crane, station, crew barracks, light poles as well as employee houses as can be seen in the background.
There are a lot of these around. Usually after getting run over by a car. I'm not sure what happened to this one. Nice thunderstorms here this morning - the robins are out in full force and they are LOUD!

My English friends John and Greg came to Toronto recently and we did a bit of planespotting at Lester B Pearson Airport. Unfortunately the wind direction was not ideal and we went to a place where there is only a very narrow gap to capture the approaching airliners.

All signs point to a demolition permit being filed shortly: a No Parking sign is attached to a light pole in front of the 1907 residence, and the property and vacant lot to the west were sold for $1.202 million in January 2023. NOTE: The permit was issued in April 2023.

First trip out for night shooting with the Rokinon 24mm Tilt/Shift lens.
Lens flair seemed to be handled pretty well. Not a ton of ghosting, and when it was present it wasn't overly distracting. The Chili Dogs image has a light pole just outside the frame that couldn't be flagged for the exposure and didn't cause a problem. Basically I'll continue to watch it but I'm not worried about it.
Distortion is noticeable in the image with brick wall. It wasn't bad enough that I attempted to correct it, especially since most the image was dark enough to hide it. I'll have to watch this in brighter conditions where the geometry is the focus of the image.
