This somewhat strange and recent building is the Harold Washington Public Library Building in downtown Chicago. It's a bit of Romanesque, Beaux Arts meets.... fantasy (?).
I was walking down the street and saw this down another street. I abruptly stopped with a "what the heck is that??" in my mind and almost got ran over by a Segway rider (of all things).

One gold medallion with a black background given by the Wren Society to new members. The medallion contains the border of the College's seal with a backdrop of the Wren Building. Below the Wren Building are the Latin words "Veritas e Aequitas," or truth and justice, and the year 1832, the year the Wren Society was founded. The medallion is 2in. in diameter on a 15.75in. ribbon chain and is in good condition. Located in Dec Obj S2, SS1, Box 20. UA 2010.301

Dan Brinkman came out today with a program about dinosaurs! While he was teaching the kids about what dinosaurs eat and what extinct means, a special guest appeared!

Another to add to my colllection of library signs.... That is the cathedral right in front of me, but you do need to walk left, as it is up a hill. The library is next door.

The library, in conjunction with the County Human Relations Commission and Historical Society, hosted an exhibit on the origins of the people of Morris County.
What a show! Puppet Pizzazz by Greg Ruhe brought a lot of energy and excitement to the library in the form of puppets of all shapes and sizes!
Library staff member Christina Stone and Colleyville Center Manager Lin Przybyl struck a pose in the freshly painted site of the future children's collection.
