Powell’s Snowmen displayed at Bristol Indiana Library on Sat. Feb. 7, 2015. Linda Powell’s snowmen are still in season and now on display in both library display cases at the Bristol, Indiana Library. Part of her large collection of holiday decor that she has been collecting for over 30 years, these snowmen hadn’t been put out this year and were still in their totes. When Daryl Schrock, Director of the Bristol Library put out a call for a new mid-winter display, Powell agreed to bring out her snowmen. Powell’s two favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas, and her indoor and outdoor decor are popular attractions on a busy corner of Bristol. Her home, once owned by Dr. Barbour for many years, is the perfect place for her Powell and her husband, both interested in local history. If you have a collection that you’d like to display at the Bristol Library in either the full display case in the main library room, or in the smaller case in the lobby of the library, give Daryl at call at the library at 574-7458. She’ll help you with the details for picking a month to show off your hobby or collection for all to see.
Zofia, Flo and I went downtown today to check out the new library building. It's definitely a HUGE upgrade, compared to the old one, which I likened to a prison library. The library is a big part of our homeschooling journey, so it is nice to have a fancy new one to visit every week!
Note to Librarians: When shelving cats, it may be necessary to ignore the Library of Congress ordering ("Black Cats" before "Tuxedo Cats") for reasons of physical stability (heaviest cats on lower shelves).

Views from inside the library at Stourhead. The library is dark and I had to use a lens that distorts, but I'm sure you get a sense of how beautiful this temple of wisdom is.
